I wanted a book that gives me the tools and techniques to get clear on what it takes to become an Online Business Consultant with a leaning to Social Media. I am so glad I read this book.
A quick summary of the book is that you need a social media content plan, engagement of your market plan and then a promotional strategy of how to put all of that into effective action for faster results. I like how the case studies were included as it shows that this is not just hype but real world methods to get into the social media consultancy space. The book is also very useful for people who just want to know how social media works and what tools are needed to make it work effectively.

I thought the video marketing segment was extremely helpful as I am in the process of creating my own video online courses. Tools such as Animoto for high quality slideshows and We Video editing software for YouTube has given me fast short cuts to create professional content over Social Media.

Also, great tips on finding the right kind of equipment for video creation, finding new clients as well as outsourcing strategies for when your business grows. I would like to know more about Google Plus Hangouts as it seems to be talked about quite a bit these days and I guess that could be feedback for the authors next book. Great read and well worth the investment.

I've known Lasse (the author) for years in the internet marketing field and he not only knows his stuff but he relishes in teaching others. His new Smart Social Media book shows even the lay person how to create a fabulous income for him or herself by becoming a social media expert.

Since Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube aren't going anywhere really fast, in this day and age where people are struggling for work, anyone with a computer can learn how to put what's in this book to use and make a great living! I never cease to be amazed by what I learn from Lasse!

The book is a powerful tool for people who want to know how social media works and make money with it.

Business is about strategy and experience; you will find this and more in Lasse's book. He shares not only his knowledge but also his passion. Its a great book, thanks Lasse!

Ah yes as another reviewer says, "Lern from the best." So true. Lasse is the best for sure. I am a graduate of his training program for social media consultants, and I read a pre-release copy of his book.

As an author and author mentor, the power of social media is undeniable.

Yet there has to be a strategy and a system for doing anything in business. Facebook, YouTube and other social networks are the same. To use social media sites is one thing. To use them EFFECTIVELY in a way that draws customers, is another.

There are tons of books about social media, but seldom will you see one that gives you a specific strategic plan for how to cultivate an audience and grow a loyal following. Sure there are "gimmick of the month club" software systems and tricks, but those will never build a true following.

I came to Lasse first as a student in his Smart Social Media Freedom System course, because I was using social media but wanted to be more strategic and effective. My first client came to me for help with her social media presence for her restaurant.

It's true what the first main chapter says - small businesses are struggling and they need your help.

One of my favorite chapters is where he shares interviews with successful social media managers. They provide insight "from the field," including pitfalls to avoid and methods to embrace.

You will also find the specific strategies for creating high engagement on Facebook in a way that's repeatable. You'll start with a Facebook CONTENT plan, and then develop a PROMOTIONAL plan and an ACTION plan that will increase engagement - all from the pages of Smart Social Media.

I myself use these techniques to manage work for my own pages and for clients. Solid.
