Even closed the lids leak is turned over.

The air valve that lets air in while you are drinking makes an awful squeaking noise especially when the bottle is full.

I bought these bottles from Costco yesterday and was about to return them today. But by calling the 800 number, I learned of easy fixes for two annoying problems. To eliminate the chirping sound you hear when drinking, turn the screw-on cap counter clockwise (unscrew it) slightly. The chirping noise is eliminated and the water comes out at the same rate it did before and it doesn't leak from the bottle either.

The neoprene sleeves are difficult to put on the bottles. If you fold the top half of the sleeve down so that it's inside out over the bottom half, it's almost a cinch to get on the bottle.

Since I've resolved the most annoying problems, I'm now keeping these bottles and at the price, you can't go wrong.

I bought the 3-pak/27 oz bottles from Costco also. The only negative issue I had was that the caps squeak
when you drink. That's because the caps contain a silicone seal to create the suction to drink. This seal fell out of the bottle I was using and it's not supposed to detach at all. I called the 800# customer service number that came with the bottles. The customer service rep was very quick to identify the issue and sent 3 replacement caps which I received 2 days later! These new caps do not have the silicone seals and are also non-bpa leaching plastic caps. No Squeak anymore! Yeah!!! Also, the neoprene sleeves have the loop to attach a carabiner. We use them for everything now! Less money for drinks on the go and healthier too! Love Them!

These looked great so I bought them but... the lid opens with such light pressure that unless you keep them upright, they will not just leak, they will pour your contents out! All three of mine are like this - the lids snaps closed but even light pressure will open them. Even closed the lids leak is turned over. I found out the hard way laying one of them down in my carseat. Fortunately it was just water. They're being returned. Plus, I now see they're made in China. Sorry but that's just another negative.

I bought these from Costco because they are a nice width for smaller hands and cup holders. The insulating sleeves are nice too. They would be perfect except for one thing. When I drink from them they make a high-pitched chirping sound! In the lid there is a small rubber stopper to allow air into the bottle while drinking but otherwise keeps the bottle from leaking. This little plug causes a most annoying sound when air is being sucked into the bottle

I read all the bad reviews AFTER ordering this set, so I was expecting the worst when it arrived. Apparently, the company has responded to feedback because the lids have NO CHIRPING sound and in fact NO RUBBER VALVE at all. It is clearly a different style lid than the ones people complained about. Also- the bottles do not have a weird smell (and I'm very sensitive to that). So far, they've been through the dishwasher 3 times and are no worse for wear. I have other water bottles with color chipping off, so that may end up happening down the road (with the exception of the silver one). I still wish the company would sell the sleeves separately, since that's all I really set out to order. The sleeves do fit many other water bottle styles.

I bought three of these bottles from Costco a year ago and have constant leakage problems. Today one leaked on something valuable and I am about to trash them and use a plastic bottle. Over the year I have tried many things, but nothing works and it seems that keeping a water bottle from leaking would be important. I can see others have the same issue, so I know this is not exclusive to me.

I see the complaints about rust?, leaks?, missing parts? Really? We use our bottles daily. Sports, school, and when we are out and about. I've never seen any of these issues. We wash as recommended for steel bottles, using vinegar and water. I'm not sure if I can even replicate these issues the one star reviewers stated unless I was extremely careless. This bottle is THREADED so one twists the lid about 4-5 times to close it. How it could "pop off" and ruin your electronics is baffling? It bothers me that reviewers are misrepresenting this product because it makes me distrust the intent of reviewers now. Mind you, I'm not a huge fan of Chinese made products but we've had a positive experience with these with heavy-use over a year.

Since we use it for car trips too, I like that it has a pop-up sip spout for my kids to avoid spills. I prefer to unscrew and sip from the bottle like a round lid personally (no chirp or slow draw). My husband does the sip spout. So, in both cases, kids and adults find the opening options fine.

Why just 4 star? Because I don't like the smell of neoprene but I think all neoprene smells bad to me. The reason I don't take off the sleeve is because my kids like an ice cube or two thrown in for hot days and it does keep it cooler and more protected for them when they throw their bottle down.

The bottles look nice, but the lids leak even if they manage to stay closed. The lids on all three bottles pop open with the lightest touch, and even if they do stay closed they leak quite a bit.
