For the person who is interested in really learning how to invest in Trust Deeds, this is without a doubt the best guide you will ever find. George Coats' coverage of this subject is very thourough and complete. I have been investing in trust deeds for some years, and luckely found this book shortly after it was written. It has been my bible ever since. The laws may be somewhat different in other states, but the principals and guidelines he provides are wonderfull. This book has helped me to avoid may pitfalls in making private loans. Required reading for anyone interested in this subject.

If you are into trust deed investment or brokering this is THE BOOK to have. Beg, borrow or steal a copy. Do anything you have to, but get this book!

I've been using this book since I first started investing in Trust Deeds almost 20 years ago. I lived in CA when I purchased the book, I've since moved to a different state; the principles are the same. TD investing is a minefield and you will get ripped off if you're not careful. This wonderful book exposes many of the pitfalls of TD investing and helps provide a road map for beginners. One of the first things Coats says in his book is (I paraphrase here), "Assume everyone you are dealing with is a crook and a liar and act accordingly". Believe it! Then follow Coat's tips and thoroughly investigate every loan you are considering.

If you are series about trust deed investing, I would consider this book to be a must have resource. It was written for California investors, however the book is very applicable, with some exceptions, for any trust deed state.

The best book ever written on trust deed investing. I believe 1994 was the last copy printed so there is some outdated issues that you need to be aware of, but no trust deed investor should be without this book.
