I know this will sound like I represent this company but I do not. This is a truly amazing product. I would go as far as stating it is unique. I can tell you from personal experience it is the ONLY product that will eliminate bad breath and/or mouth odor.
Every night my wife would notice my bad breath. I have no idea where it was coming from since I have good dental hygiene. I was so frustrated, tried all the usual stuff, Listerine, Cepacol, Plax, Scope, etc. I would brush my tongue, scrape my tongue, brush with every conceivable toothpaste, nothing worked.
I ordered Smart Mouth just out of frustration. I used it as prescribed, twice a day. I purposely did not tell my wife. Every time I tried a new product I wanted to see if it really worked without any pre-conceived ideas. By the third night I finally asked her and she realized that there was no odor. Since then I have used it every day and it works - IT REALLY WORKS!. I know I sound way too happy but I struggled with this problem for over 2 years - it was depressing.
This stuff is so easy and mild tasting. I dreaded trying to rinse with those harsh tasting burning mouthwashes. All you do is mix "part A" with "part B" in a small measuring cup and rinse for 30 seconds. What I don't get is how it works? It tastes like a very mild watered down minty mouthwash. You only need to rinse once in the morning and once at night. How something so simple can resolve such a vexing problem, while all the huge pharmaceutical companies cannot, baffles, and angers, me.
I must tell you that a meal heavy in garlic does foil it. It helps for sure but the garlic odor stills comes through.

I really wish someone had turned me on to this a long time ago.
I did not experience any of the side effects that some others have.
The manufacturer suggests 4 pumps from each bottle, I have found that 3 work just fine, this will make it last a bit longer and save you some money

I am someone obsessed with good smelling breath...not knowing if my breath smelled ok would always bother me. I used to use BreathRX religiously...until I was turned onto SmartMouth. BreathRX did what all other mouthwashes did - neutralize bad breath for an hour or two max. But this stuff is like magic. I only use two pumps from each bottle, which makes it last much longer and I think works just as well. I couldn't imagine a product could make morning breath go away. So I tested it with my husband. He was brave enough to smell my breath as soon as I woke up. Let me just say - it wasn't minty fresh, but it wasn't bad either! Amazing stuff - I'm a user for life.

The only negative is that I wish you could buy refills in a larger size so I didn't have to continue buying these ridiculously small bottles. I mean a 15-day supply is ridiculous. But like I said, 2 pumps from each bottle works just as well and it lasted over a month for me.

SmartMouth has been sold under a different name for a few years (TriOral). It is an amazing product -- truly keeps your breath fresh for 12 hours. Very happy that it can be ordered through Amazon.com!

I used to use Listerine, Scope, Plax, etc. Nothing offered results that would last for more then an hour. About a year ago, while looking for a better solution, I came across SmartMouth. Yes, it is more costly then the others, but SO well worth it. I double it with the SmartMouth toothpaste for an even better result.

PROS:
- no burning of the gums; unlike mouth washes that contain alcohol, there is no painful burning;
- unlike mouth washes that contain saccharine and alcohol (and therefore produce sugar laden environment in your mouth, which leads to growth of bacteria, which leads to more bad breath), SmartMouth produces no sugary aftertaste and no secondary bad breath;
- unlike other mouth washes, SmartMouth doest's just cover bad breath with minty flavour; it NEUTRALIZES bad breath;
- despite the two bottles, the pumps allow for clean and fast dispensation and help you avoid pouring too much/too little into the cup (and wasting product);

CONS:
- small size; I wish they produced a 32 oz size...
- price; however, even though it is probably twice the average mouth wash competition price, it is well worth it, because it actually WORKS!

THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- you must use it TWICE a day for a 24 hour protection; some boxes actually say 12 hours, instead of 24 hours - I guess they may have been having an issue with the 24 hour claim;
- the suggested amount to use is four squirts from each bottle; I find three squirts MORE then enough; that makes the two bottles last about three weeks (or six weeks for a double pack);
- I found that adding the SmartMouth toothpaste made the process even more efficient;
- they make now a cinnamon flavour; I just tried it last week; no, it is NOT sugary; the cinnamon is delicate and does not burn; I recommend it as a change to the mint...

After using for about three days I noticed a very dry mouth with l little saliva, after five days I awoke with my mouth and lips swollen and had difficulty swallowing. Upon researching the net I had symptoms of zinc overdose. Use caution if you have taken anything containing zinc. My prostate meds contain zinc

I used this when it was still TriOral, and stopped only because of budget and I thought I really didn't it anymore (see the end for details.) You may need to rinse or use the gum after smoking or eating onion or garlic, but it does work! I noticed a bit of dry mouth at first as well, but it goes away quickly. I don't like the texture of the toothpaste but can recommend the gum and mints to supplement the rinse. **I started smoking after an old hated boss became my supervisor again. I continued for six months. My husband never knew, and was angry as h*ll when I told him a year AFTER the fact. In fact, when I first stopped smoking, then stopped the TriOral, he finally asked,"Uh, baby, do you need to make a dental appointment?" Yeah, I'm embarrassed to tell this, but if you've got diet, medication or medical/dental issues that cause embarrassing bad breath, please try this. If you make live presentations at all, you've got to try this. You will never again worry about offensive breath odor. Couples: No More MORNING BREATH...ever!

I used this product for the first time before going to bed. My mouth felt really dried out, and it left a metallic taste. This morning I woke up feeling terrible. My mouth was very dry, my skin prickly and I feel very lethargic. I felt just fine before when I used this. I think it caused an overdose of zinc in my system. Maybe it doesn't bother other people, but it definitely caused problems in me.

Smart Mouth sounded like a great new product so I bought it. What I found after trying it was, was something that ruins the tastebuds in my mouth for hours. I would not recommend this product to anyone. When I emailed the manufacturer, they wrote back their hundreds of customers have been very satisfied. Hundreds? Must be a pretty new product then.

Trust me, you do not want to buy this if you enjoy the taste of food. I happen to know something about this, since I was one of the ones who used zinc lozenges when they first came out many years ago. The first thing I noticed was zinc makes your taste buds not work for many hours. When I purchased this Smart Mouth I didn't look to see the ingredients. I tried it out and on the 2nd use, I noticed my expensive Great Harvest Bread Co. muffin had virtually no flavor! A mud pie would have tasted nearly the same. And, mud pies are free! Now I realize why they say this product lasts 12 hours. That's about how long zinc kills the tastbuds. I guess if you can't taste anything, you don't have bad breath, right? But, not only that, this stuff makes my mouth taste sour, like morning breath after a night of drinking Old English 800 beer and smoking Tarrington cigarettes.

I was skeptical with this product as I am everything else. I used it and noticed right away that my breath was fresh ESPECIALLY in the morning.
