These slippers are "nice" slippers made of various color courderoy uppers and faux sherling interior. The bottoms are a skid resistant bottom with little "nubs" that grip the floor when you walk. Although I do wear them all over the house, I would imagine that they could be worn outside for "short trips" to the mailbox and such. But, personally, I won't be doing that because there are no instructions regarding how to wash them, so I assume you can't - and they aren't waterproof. They are quite warm (and I do get extremely COLD feet) so that has been a HUGE plus! On the negative side was the price. I paid almost $35 for them. That is a hefty amount for slippers that are made of synthetic materials, but I was willing to pay that price because I saw and tried these on in the store and really liked them. Unfortunately, NO stores had ANY in my size! So I had to find a pair on-line. I finally did, and my color choice was limited to "camel" (I didn't care) - but if you are a larger size (9.5-10) you will have a hard time finding these, as they seem to be VERY popular! When they came down in price at DSW to just over $17, that's when they really flew out the window! If you are a smaller size - you'll be in luck, so look for a pair on sale and you will be quite pleased with this slipper. My only real problem was the price. But the comfort and quality is excellent!

I finally found a perfect replacement for my favorite raggedy slippers. The inside material keeps your feet warm without creating too much moisture. I love the fact that they are indoor/outdoor so I'm able to go out and get the paper in the morning. The sole is thin and flexible. Some slippers I looked at had very thick soles which did not feel as comfortable. Never thought I'd be so excited about a pair of slippers. You can't go wrong with the Smartdog brand. You do get what you pay for.

Smartdogs are better than any slippers I've ever tried and these are no exception. The arch support is excellent, way better than anything else out there, which IMO fully justifies the higher price. I have had several pairs of Smartdogs and I love these because they keep my feet toasty warm even without socks.

Bought these for my wife on Mother's Day. She was very pleased with them. That's al I need to give this top rating.
