Great Item, Money saver too,
I have a dress shop, and am not new to steamers, this one does a GREAT JOB.
You can save money on your dry cleaning bills for sure. Really gives everything a fresh look.

I'll never use my iron again....,

...okay, maybe to do creases on trousers. This steamer is da bomb. I steamed two pairs of cargo pants, one pair of jeans, 20 linen napkins, four cotton blouses (Anthropologie styles, with trim and funky pleating), and a table cloth in 45 minutes, with one container full of water. It made every piece look almost as though it just came back from the cleaners--and without any threat of that horrid melted-fabric shine you get when you hold a hot iron over a pocket for too long. I was even able to use it in conjunction with a little Oxy Clean laundry spray to get some red wine stains out of my white linen table cloth. It worked like magic steaming them right out in about 2 minutes. With just a follow-up rinse, dry and full steaming, the table cloth looked new again.
I can't wait to try it on my wool and cashmere sweaters this winter. I'm looking forward to keeping them in like-new shape and texture without dry cleaning or hand-washing. I'll never have that giant pile of hand-washing staring me down ever again! UPDATE on 9-2-10: My lovely steamer has bitten the dust. Literally. Dust is pouring out of this thing. Not sure what the deal was, I cranked all the screws from the bottom, and it turns out that there is a heating stone in the bottom that has slowly been deteriorating with each use. It was breaking down into dust over the months, with little pile of gray matter shaking out every time I'd move the steamer across the floor. I had thought it was just mineral buildup from those times I used tap water instead of distilled. I've grown quite attached to my steamer, however, and can't imagine going back to an iron. I'm considering purchasing this same one again, in the hopes that the last one was just a lemon (since no one else reviewing it seems to have had my problem).

Great Gift,
This went over really well as gifts for some people that I never know what to get them. I was even able to try it out on some slacks & it quickly took out the wrinkles and left the crease that goes down the front of the leg. very light weight too, even with the water. good product, especially for the cost.

Lasted 6 months, no warranty,

Great while it lasted, but broke down after 6 months. It would turn on, steam 1 shirt, then the steamer would auto shut off. I think the auto shut off mechanism was getting tripped prematurely. In any case, I contacted the seller, who informed me that this product only has a 30 DAY warranty, and that therefore they could not replace it. You can buy a very similar product for $60 with a 2-year limited warranty here on Amazon, so I don't know why you'd gamble on this product instead. Again, it's great while it lasts, but probably not worth the gamble given the inadequate warranty and customer service.

wow,
This review is from: Professional Garment Steamer
The steam thing was so strange to me at first, but once I got the hang of it, I really liked it. I have 4 boys, and a lot of t-shirts. Each t-shirt took less than a minute. Excellent for dress pants that you rarely wear because it will remove any oders and will freshen them up. You will not get that crisp line but you will have wrinkle free clothes that will never be damaged no matter what material they are.
Worth it if you have a lot of laundry.

The Best Steamer !,
This review is from: Professional Garment Steamer
I have had three garment steamers and the last one was the most expensive and after much research, highly rated It died after less then one year and I wanted to find one which was better and again, I did quite a bit research. Apparently Smartek is the best unless you want a professional steamer you may need for a company. I received this one last week, just in time to steam my huge winter wardrobe. The design is excellent!! It is far more powerful then any steamer I have had and the smaller tank means nothing, so easy to fill with regular water, not distilled. If you want to steam heavy cotton, I do not think any steamer will do the job.
I would recommend this steamer to everyone!

Effective and Good Value,

I like this product very much: it performs as advertised, is easy to assemble and appears to be well made. My only issue is with the hanging "system." Using a regular hanger makes steaming shirts and trousers difficult. In retrospect, I would have preferred an arrangement similar to Conair's. Nevertheless, still a good product overall.

The steamer has a great 1 minute warm up, but only after 1 month, the stand which holds the steamer started to bend and lean over. Of course I did not see this in any other review so just be warned.

wouldn't power up after 16 months of occasional use,

Before this product stopped working, it was great -- saved me a ton of money in dry cleaning, much easier than ironing. But after 14 months of very occasional use, it just wouldn't power up anymore. The manufacturer has no information on their site about how to troubleshoot or what might be the cause.
