1.0 out of 5 stars DONT BOTHER WITH THIS IRON
I bought this relatively inexpensive travel Iron for my trip through Europe. I tested it at home and it was ok. I got to Europe and switched to the European voltage and it got so hot so quickly that I almost burned myself. The controls dont work very well. It either gets way too hot or not hot enough. Doesnt get the wrinkles out very well either.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not thrilled, January 3, 2007

It works, but barely. Its fiddly and the components are fragile. I dont see how it woudl stand up to travel. It fell off the ironing board and just about disintegrated. I keep having to reattach the steam button

5.0 out of 5 stars great travel iron, September 24, 2007
i was always looking for a iron which should be easy to take along on trips(because i travel alot for business) when i was on amazons web site i recognized this iron and purchased it. before i went on my next trip i tried it, befoer packing it and was amazed of how it works because it is small and didnt expect it should work so good beleive it works just as good as any regular iron i ever owned. it is also quite cheap for such a good iron it pays to buy such a thing i told all my business coleagues about this iron and suggested they should buy it for their traveling.
it takes out all the wrinkles from your cloth and the best thing is it is lightweight and easy to take along on trips exactly what i was looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Travel Iron, June 26, 2007
Finally, a travel iron that actually works, and even does steam (and does it better than my household iron)! It's a little larger than the standard no-steam travel iron that many of us have trie, but it really does iron clothes very effectively. I love the fact that you can push the steam button and get an extra burst of steam whenever you need it. The little "toy" iron that comes with is cute.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very cheaply made, February 13, 2011

When I received the iron a piece was broken off. I could tell it was cheaply made but I felt I should return it for another one and at least give it a try. When I went through the exchange process, the sellers "AsSeenOnTVGuys" made me feel like a criminal. They demanded it be returned within a few days or the exchange would be void, if it was missing any pieces it would be void...etc. No apology for receiving a damaged product, it was as if it was my fault. Anyway, I still did the exchange and got a replacement. It worked a couple of times before it started to come apart (the hot plate separated from its plastic base) and the water reservoir lid kept popping off and spilling water everywhere. Recommend you spend your money on another product from a different seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars TRAVEL STEAMER, April 18, 2010
This review is from: Smartek Travel Steam Iron Dual Voltage (Kitchen)
I use this all the time when I need to iron my dress shirts for meetings or when I'm going out. It does the job so quick its amazing and much simpler to use than a heavy duty iron. I love this iron, If you go to Europe you can even use it there its the perfect travel iron and the best one I ever used.

2.0 out of 5 stars It worked ok, but very flimsy., December 28, 2011

I bought this iron just wanted to give it a try. I don't believe cheap is always bad. Well, this time, it is. It worked ok while it lasted for a total length of 2 month or so. Construction is not sturdy, felt like going to fall apart any minute. So, for the price, I didn't expect it to be last for years, but 2 month seemed a little too short. Find something else if you can. By the way, I bought a $2.50 travel iron from a pharmacy and it is still working well after 2 years. Go figure.

1.0 out of 5 stars handle broke with first use, November 4, 2011

Nice & compact, but was very dissapointed when the handle broke the first time I used it. I did not abuse it and am not sure why it broke.
