I will be ordering the new 2010 calendar after the success of last year's. I bought it for my 89 year old mother when the "new word a day" wasn't available. I wondered if she would use it. My GOSH.. she lives in Assisted Living and each day the question is seen by ALOT of people... they love it, and as we Smarter than a Fifth Graders realize, not ALL these questions are easy... that is what makes it a great gift for any age. My Mom is a volunteer once a week as a mentor for a 3rd grade class, and she picks out 3 questions from the following week to take with her. The kids go NUTS!! Anyway, I love this product and have never written a review before, but had to on this item.

I purchased two of these for holiday gifts and it was a great hit. As soon as the gifts were opened we started a mini game of Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader. Lots of fun!

The item was exactly as described. I am not sure if this was a manufacturer's issue or a storage issue, but the glue holding the pages together fell apart. The pages fell off of the holder and have come apart in chunks. Fortunately for me I did not need the calendar for traditional display because there was no way for this item to be displayed on a day-to-day basis in a mostly-vertical position.

The questions each day are worth waiting for. It is surprising what our fifth grade students are learning. It is a fun way to start the day.

This calendar was purchased for a 5th grade teacher as requested on her Christmas list. She reads the daily question to her students and is pleased with her gift.
