Keeps him busy.

My dog will not play with it because the plastic is hard and the noise is too loud.

Because of the internal panels, less kibble fits inside but I am fine with that.

My Yorkie mastered the standard IQ ball right away so I bought this one. He has this one down as well but because it has multiple spaces to go through before falling out, it slows down his eating more. Because of the internal panels, less kibble fits inside but I am fine with that. I actually use both versions and rotate them to keep him interested. He will not eat kibble from a bowl, but when it comes from the treat ball he is excited to eat it. I love these toys and will continue to buy them. Make sure you clean the tracks where the pieces twist together. If it comes apart while he's playing with it, he will chew up the divider.

My 7-year-old Pomeranian mix LOVES his interactive toys -- all of them. I especially enjoy this IQ ball (and the first generation one) because they keep him occupied for longer than a lot of the other interactive feeding toys. And it keeps him moving. He's only 10 pounds and has stumpy legs, so the 3" is the perfect size for him.

With this ball you get to adjust the kibble opening so that it takes longer for kibbles to come out. I started him on the 'easiest' (widest) setting at first, and he got the kibble out pretty quickly. I now always use it on the 'hardest' (smallest) setting, and he'll run around for 20 minutes or longer with it. He gets Blue Buffalo wilderness dry food, which are pretty average size kibbles.

So, this one is highly recommended. It keeps my pup moving for a good amount of time.

Whenever I get a new food dispensing toy, I fill it with kibble so my dog will get lots of reinforcement while he learns how to get the food out. The baffles with this toy made it harder to fill, but I managed to get kibble in all the sections. My busy dog, however, gave up after he got the food out of the easiest section--good thing the baffles can be removed! I ended up removing both baffles and just leaving the star base plate in, making it similar to the generation I toy. But I like how I can add challenge to this toy as my dog gains experience with it. I also like how the ball is completely clear, so my dog can tell there's food still in it.

Our dog doesn't know how to play with toys. He's a rescue who just doesn't get the concept. I trained him how to push this with his nose and it took him several sessions to get the hang of it but now he's a pro. I started with no barrier, later added the center divider, then one more. It'll be time soon to add the third barrier. The flanges on the outside are great both because they help me open and close it and because they allow him to pick it up in his teeth so he can get it unstuck from a corner or back onto the rug where he likes it best. He's clearly had to exercise his creativity to get his treats-- he's now able to extract it from all sorts of potential traps using mouth, nose and paws, and can actually steer it around curves. He also stays occupied for a good while. The last treat is the hardest to get out so it takes up a large portion if the half hour he usually spends with it. Every evening he asks for it.

Durable and easy to clean also. Great.

My 4 month old terrier loves this toy! His regular food fits in easily so it is a great way to feed him and also get some of his energy out. He plays with it almost every day and only gets tired of it when the food runs out. We started him with only one divider in it but he easily worked his way up to having all 3 inserts inside. He rolls it all over our house!

We have every dog/ cat food dispensing toy ever invented-Buster Cube, Buster Bone, etc. but so far this seems to be the favourite for both dog and the cats.
I like that the level of challenge can be easily adjusted. When all 3 inserts are used it keeps my Golden racing around the house for quite a long time, that bushy tail wagging happily. It's great that the kibble can not only be heard rattling around but seen in the clear ball as well, keeping her interested far longer than any other food dispensing toy.
Oddly, my 2 adult cats have taken a liking to this toy as well and despite it's size they can push it around on carpeting easily. Even using smaller pieces of dry cat food it is still challenging enough to keep the little furry monkeys out of trouble for a long time as they both work together to get to the food.
I will sometimes use freeze-dried treats that both the dog and cats like and all 3 will team up on the ball.

This is more of a challenge for my little dog. She works with it longer than other things I have gotten.

I recieved this as a gift for my 5 pound yorkie. It did take him a while to get the hang of it because he is so small. I had to show him how to use it and it is on the easiest setting. But, once he got the hang of it he was occupied for about 20 minutes. It does not sound like a long time, but for a puppy it is. Nothing holds his interest for very long except when I play fetch with him. Unfortunately, I cannot play fetch with him all day.
I gave it only four stars instead of five because for my puppy it was a little hard. He can roll it around for a while and not get any treats, it has to be rolled a certain way. His little paws are getting the hang of it though. I do love the fact that it can easily be washed. Let's just say that if for some reason it broke or got lost I would get him another one because I can see him using it as he gets older on the harder settings.
