Have now had this Photo Frame for about 1 month and its worked perfectly. I have tried both the internal and external flash drive, and memory cards with no problems. The unit started up immediately and the memory card and flash drives were found with no problems and we got pictures on the frame from the get go.

I don't see any overheating mentioned in other reviews. My unit is very cool to the touch even after hours of operation.

The price is exceptional for an 11" ($99) and is a very good value.

The colors are vivid and sharp and overall very good.

I highly recommend this photo frame for manufacturing quality, picture quality, ease of operation, and low price.

Pros:

+ LCD screen with a large viewing angle (images can be seen well from sides)
+ Can be connected to PC for direct image transfer (or the cards can be inserted after copying images)

Cons:

- Cannot hang this on wall untill you can find a way to hide the cable (electricity) or if you are ok with the cable being seen
- Speakers on the back on the unit (if there is obstruction on the back side, too close to wall etc sound will be muffled)
- No support for MP3 (only WMA music files)
- Inbuilt music player is very basic, you cannot fast forward or reverse a song, you can skip them thou
- No charging mechanism as such the frame will run only when connected to an electricity outlet (120V to 240V)

Gist:
Does best what it is supposed to do i.e. DISPLAYING IMAGES, crisp images with many configurable options

Highly recommended if you want a frame for full image and basic music and video functionality (which I consider a free bonus at this price)

Pros:

Shabby backpanel construction; Photos cannot be randomized; Heats up a lot

At $100 (Aug 2008 on RitzCamera.com), this is an outstanding deal in the 11" digital photo frame segment. The colors of the pics seen in the frame are amazingly bright, and even low resolution pics look great on this screen.
The musical playback is great feature, though I haven't found a way of turning it off. It can give a surreal or nostalgic effect depending on your pics.
The interface is simple, with minimal buttons.
Its capable of reading almost any kind of media including USB stick, compact flash cards, MMC and SD cards. With an internal memory of 128 MB and almost unlimited external media memory, one can literally enjoy their entire life's albums on this beautiful digital photo frame.
I have never used the remote, but its a cool feature to have on this gadget.

Although, the front panel of the frame looks elegant, the finishing of the back-panel is a bit shoddy. The actual electronic display is held inside a plastic frame with the help of 4 screws, but the two surfaces don't flush onto each other very well, giving it an uneven level difference. The screws also go into the panel at random angle because of the level difference.
Leave the screen on for more than 2 hrs and it will melt down all the stuff within 3 ft from it! The big screen dissipates a lot of heat. I haven't seen if other frames give out as much heat as well, but this seems to get a bit too hot!
A couple of features that I thot were missing was the ability to randomize the pics on the media and to turn off the music if wanted. But for all the other good features that it has, losing out on these two is not a big deal for me.

A happy customer and recommended till another superior piece comes in the market at a lower price!

I have this frame and it has never worked, the power will not turn on. I have e-mailed the technical support weeks ago and never received a reply. I have tried calling the three numbers for Smart Parts Products and apparently the company is out of business because all the phone numbers have been disconnected. So now I am stuck with a useless frame that doesn't work, hasn't ever worked. I even tried replacing the a/c adaptor with one from Radio Shack, but it still won't even turn on. I have read this is a common problem with this frame. Whatever you do, don't buy anything from this company since it is out of business. Someone should have filed a law suit against this company for selling expensive, useless frames. Anyone want to buy a broken one?

My letter to Amazon.com Customer Service:

Dear Friends,

I am a long time loyal customer of Amazon.com and this is the first time I've had to ask you for help with an order. I received the Smartparts Picture frame in good condition and was very pleased with the service received from Amazon and Ritz Camera. However, as I am reading in other reviews of this product, it just stopped working after about 70 days of good service. When I contacted Ritz Camera, I was told that the time for returning this product had expired and that I would need to contact the manufacturer whose number they gave me. When I contacted the manufacturer they replied that it should be Ritz Camera's responsibility to replace the item and they would reimburse Ritz Camera. The company representative said she would check it out and get back to me in a couple of days. I have not heard from her in two weeks. When I tried to call back today, I received no answer. Is there anyway you can help me resolve this issue. It seems to me this would be a product to discontinue selling based on the number of negative reviews and similar stories from other Amazon customers. Thaks for your time in this matter. This item was purchased for my Mom for Christmas. I loaded an SD card with over 700 pictures of family present and past. She admited that she sometimes sets for hours and watches it. The frame is large enough even for older eyes to enjoy, it is very easy to work with. I now intend to load other cards so she can interchange to watch her many, many, grand and great great grand children as well as her ancestors.

On Christmas, I literally took the memory card out of my camera, put it in the frame, turned it on and it was set to go. The picture is clear and large enough to be enjoyed across the room.

This was a great bargain. The picture quality is great and it is easy to set up. I had pictures from our vacation showing during our New Years Eve party and the guest were pleased with the display and the frame.

The frame is attractive and the photos look good. The doocumentation could be better and I had some difficulty using the software on my computer.

The picture quality is pretty good, and the frame looks nice. On the other hand, the software is maddening and doesn't work the way it is supposed to 3/4 of the time.
