I purchased this for my hubby for Christmas and was delighted with the quality of the photos and the size was perfect. However within 3 weeks the forward button had quit working after minimal use. We contacted Smartparts and they agreed to replace the item in February. It is now April and still no replacement. We called the numbers and no answers. No one responds to our emails. If we had known they were going out of business we would have just kept it and worked around the button. Now we're out the money and the frame.

Does exactly what it is advertised to do. Great resolution for the money. Software automatically crops photo's so they will fill completely the picture frame. Displayed photo's from my 2 Gb SD card with no problem at all. Color and resolution are much superior to my older 5.8" frame. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to poor battery life of only 2 hours. However, if you leave it connected to your computer via USP it boots up instantly and runs constantly while your computer is on.

I purchased one for my mother in-law who lives in a nursing home. The packaging is deceptive. The packaging says that it will hold up to 17 or so photos. What you find out after opening is that you can't access the internal memory to add pictures to it. Which in my opinion, makes the internal memory a total waste. You must use a memory card loaded with your pictures sized to 320x180 for them to fit. The displayed image is superior, but unless you must purchase a memory card for it to work as intended. The manual lists a web address and telephone, but the website is mostly broken links, the telephone number has been disconnected, and the email gets rejected. The device is worth $20, but not more. Especially knowing that your on your own when it comes to any sort of customer or technical support.

I ordered three of these (I paid $14.99 each now I see they are $39.99 each). But even at $39.99 in my opinion it will be money well spent. I loaded some photos of a friend and his family on one of the Smartparts and I gave it to his wife she cried when viewing the photos of her family (I knew the Smartparts was money well spent.

I got this for my husbands grandmother. She is in a nursing home so I needed something small. I did think it would come with a charger and I was wrong. Maybe I just didnt read well enough. It has to be charged from a computer with a usb cord. I used my old razor phone charger to plug it in to the wall and it works. So Grandma loves she was able to work it her self and it has a great picture to it. So it is cheap has a great picture and it is easy to use. We got what we wanted for Grandma to have a slide show of all her family.

I liked the product because it can be charged via a USB. This is something i need to just put on my office desk.
The Good:
- pictures are bright and clear (depends on what resolution your uploaded pictures are of course)
- Connects to your PC or laptop via USB, which you can use to upload and manage your memory card pictures. The USB connection also charges up your battery
- You can orient the frame horizontally or vertically - though vertically the USB cord is at the top of the frame if connected
- Small and portable
- Cheap

The Bad:
- the internal memory cannot be accessed. I get a non-formatted memory error. Trying to format it is not possible either. So you cannot use the internal memory. Would've been nice to have 2 different picture albums
- Battery doesn't last that long but if just used for your desktop, like I do, I keep it connected via USB.
- Uploaded pictures have to be oriented horzontally, meaning your vertical pics have to be rotated coutner-clockwise first then uplaoded. You can rotate the pictures using the control panel on the picture frame but it's much easier to pre-rotate them. Otherwise the pictures are cropped when shown.
- With the limited number of buttons, you have to push some 2x or do a combination of button pushes to get to some menus. It took me a little while to figure out how to change the transition effects and time.
- Some glare on the screen, so you need to orient your frame facing away from windows or harsh light.
- The finish on the front is also a thumbprint magnet
- Unless I haven't figured it out yet, you cannot have album folders to switch between for slide shows. I think it just plays ALL pictures in the SD card regardless of album. Would've been nice to have pictures oriented vertically in one album and another album with horizontal pictures.

Conclusion: All in all I really like this item. Even with the negatives mentioned above, the picture clarity and brightness, the portability and USB connection sold me to this product. If you want something for your office desk that doesn't require an AC adapter - this is for you.

My dad is in his 60's and he wanted something small he can take with him to show pictures of his grand kids. I found this on amazon and thought it would be perfect. It is easy to use and load pictures on and has a good picture. My dad has had no trouble with this picture frame and uses it all the time.

Great product and Great Source. I had one of these viewers and needed a second. I was able to get it quickly at a great price.

I bought two of these and think they're great. I carry one my purse so I can show my pictures off whenever I want. I didn't need to download anything - just loaded pictures on my SD card, inserted it in the slot and I was ready to go! I plan to buy a few as Christmas gifts. The battery life may not be as long as I'd like, but it's nothing I can't live with.

My wife carries this in her purse to show off pictures of the grandkids. It's great being able to snap pictures with our digital camera and then view them on the Smartparts frame. The display is just the right size to be easily viewable and yet not too bulky to carry it in a pocket or purse. This saves us time and money by not having to print snapshots just to show to others. This makes a great Christmas gift too!
