This book has everything you need to make science fun!!! Most of the items you need are laying around your house just waiting to be applied. The best part is that it explains the science. You know why the marshmellow explodes in the microwave. This book is the best if you really want to explain science the FUN way. (the way it should be)

As a science teacher in middle school, it is a great book for chemical recipes and experiments. Best yet, it explains the "why" things work in an understandable student language. Truly a good book for teachers who like to use the inquiry approach to learning - lots of hands on stuff to spark your students' curiosites.

This is a great and entertaining science experiment book. I bought my second copy of this book after watching how kids gravitated to it while seeking a science experiment to perform in class. The well-worn original is now in my living room still enticing and educating any visitors. Everyone loves smashing and crashing things as well as launching them. Destructology at its best! The drawings are key and definitely the "science hook" for younger kids. Each experiment has three sections: What You Need, What You Do, and the Ahha! part, What's Going On? Bobby Mercer is no doubt an excellent teacher who carefully explains the concepts behind each experiment. You, your child or students can have fun and learn a lot of physics from this book. Explode marshmallows, smash eggs and cups, launch all manner of things. Next time your painting a room, I dare you to try the Water Bucket Flip. Buy it and have some fun.
