This review is from: Smash Record (Audio CD)
It may not be the best entry to the Ralph Covert/Bad Examples catalog (I reserve that for the brilliant "Bad Is Beautiful"), but it is a strong effort on the part of the group. "Kill Amanda" ranks right up there with the best tunes Ralph Covert has penned, and many other songs jump out at you as being solid, hook-filled pop music. It's good to hear the guitar work of Steve Gerlach (Phantom Helmsmen, Bad Examples on "Kisses 50 Cents") and Tommy O'Brien (Example on "MEAT: THE BAD EXAMPLES" and "Bad Is Beautiful"), and the solid bass guitar playing of Tom "Pickles" Piekarski (Famous Potatoes, Mike Jordan and the Rockamatics, Betsy and the Boneshakers, and Bad Examples). But of course it's Ralph Covert's songwriting and vocal style that make the band what it is: a solid pop/rock band that is a ton of fun to listen to.
