Don't get me wrong - I do like this product, but I don't know how absolutely necessary it really is. It feels nice when you apply it (initially liquid like that turns to a light powder feel), and you can sense that it is 'perfecting' your skin to begin foundation application, but any good that it really does is certainly only temporary and I personally believe that if your skin is scrubed and smooth and moisturised, then you probably don't need a product like this. Even in the hotter weather, I didn't find that this kept my make-up on any longer than it normally would have, but it 'appeared' to give it a slightly more polished look and admittedly, it helps your make-up go on smoother.
Overall, I like this product (I LOVE the way it feels on the skin), but I don't think I'd necessarily purchase another bottle when the difference it makes to my make-up is so minimal.

I like to have a primer, specifically for the reason that it seems to make my makeup last longer, and eliminates the need for as much foundation. I've been using this primer for a fair amount of time and am very pleased with the results.

First off, a small pump, approximately the size of a pea, is more than adequate to provide coverage. It is my final step of skin preparation (after cleansing, moisturing, sun-screening) before make-up application. You don't have to wait for it to absorb. I imagine it would work well with a liquid foundation, although I use powdered mineral foundation, and it works wonderfully in conjunction. This primer fills in any wrinkles, thus allowing foundation to go on seamlessly, making skin look radiant and fabulous.

My skin is not prone to break-outs, so I have no irritation with this Primer. However, it does contain oil. I think that I may be inclined to get the oil-free primer next time. The oil can leave fingers with a slight oily feeling. But overall, I'm very pleased.

I've been trying this primer, and I've also used the Bare Escentuals primer. I saw no difference, so I tried using the primer on half my face, and no primer on the other half. I have seen absolutely no difference between the two sides. None. No difference in appearance of skin texture, no difference in how long my makeup lasts. None. Zero.

But it makes me break out.

The product feels like it contains silicone. I prefer Laura Merciers primer that doesn't give that plastic-y feel and doesn't make me break out.

Can't image a day where I don't use Smashbox primer. Makes my skin soooooo much smoother and may makeup stays on all day. I have it on auto-delivery. RECOMMEND!!

I really do like this product. It made a difference in helping my foundation last all day. I thought I was getting a "deal" but with shipping I actually ended up spending more than actually going into the store to purchase. I guess I didn't have to drive to the store . . good product, but not so great a deal.

I love this primer. I am in my late 30s and found in the past few years that any kind of makeup, liquid or powder, tends to settle in the fine lines around my eyes, making me look older. I started using this primer and that completely solved my problem. When I use it, I get constant comments about how radiant and young my skin looks. If I had used this when I was younger (and my skin was oilier) I am sure I would have broken out. Also, you only need a tiny amount, so the bottle lasts for months. Highly recommended for women over 35!

I haven't tried many primers, but this is a great primer. It definitely helps makeup look smoother.

I tried this and also the tinted version (spf 15). It has a very silky smooth feel to it. You can see that the appearance of pores lessens immediately after putting it on. It softens the appearance of my skin. I tried a sample for a day or two and everything was fine. So bought then the product.
But unfortunately after 3 days of using it, I started breaking out all over. I am in my 30's and usually the only time I break out is that time of the month and then only 1-2 spots in the T zone. With the smash box primer, I was breaking out along my jaw line, under my eyes, forehead, cheeks, everywhere!!
So definitely not worth the money for me. If you want to try this, make sure the store gives you about at least 3-4 days worth sample to try to make sure you don't break out before plopping down the $ for the full size.

I really like the product and the shipping was faster than I expected. The only problem is the squirt bottle the foundation primer comes in doesn't work anymore. It did the first 2 times I used it but now I can't get anything out of it. I didn't do anything to it that would make that happen, it just sits on my dresser. I have to take the top off of the bottle in order to use it. The top isn't locked or anything because I keep turning it and it still doesn't work. But I know that's not the seller's fault since it worked when I first got it. I don't understand what happened though. But anyway, it was a good product I love the way it makes my face feel nice and smooth. I've been getting a lot of acne lately which never really happens. I hope it isn't from this stuff because the bottle says that it's oil-free. I'm going to continue to use it. We'll see what happens.
