I'm not sure about long-term durability of (all of) these folders. The first one that I opened appeared to be faultily glued at the bottom and even tore slightly as I spread it open. I'd recommend that users open them for the first time with some degree of care.
The folders are also very durable and seem to be holding up better than regular file folders. They hold quite of bit in each one and I am very satisfied with the product for the price that it is.
At work, I've used the standard Smead Expanding Files mentioned above when my files become too voluminous to be contained in a standard Pendaflex-type hanging file. I put them in place and those are sturdy enough to stand on their own, but hold more. I plan to use these in much the same way here at home. Despite being not quite sturdy enough to stand on their own, I'm enough of a packrat that my files are pretty tight and will help hold them upright and in place (they have a nice flat bottom when expanded, but don't as easily remain upright when on a counter or table, for example).
I think most of us have handled manila folders or are familiar enough with them to know that they're sturdy, but don't hold up to long-term wear if used or handled with frequency - at least not without showing it. These jackets are ideal for keeping a lot of materials together, yet easily accessed. Right now, I'm planning a trip and I have all the travel materials in one of them. It has enough width to allow you to place several manila foldes inside, which is helpful in keeping all the contents organized separately inside, yet I can easily get to them all.Read more ›

Lighter weight paper than expected. For Smead product, surprised that couple of file jackets had folds/seam that were not glued properly though overall quality looks OK. Read morePublished 2 months ago by amazonian
