Great new find for me! This gal is incredible! Not A bad cut on the whole CD!! I don't want to go into a lot of detail, or tell you who she is like - BECAUSE....I want you to be as greatly surprised as I was!! Best new artist I've heard in years!! I found this posted on a web site (perhaps you will find it interesting): IMA Smile is her name by Nelley @ 2008-01-08 - 20:02 As we know IMA's smile is irresistible. No wonder she has been able to gather several hundred fans in no time, both in the middle of her television show she launches her album "Smile" in Corona. Ima Smile is her name and she was born in 1978 and as a very young age she knew what she wanted to be, her only dreamed was to become a singer. In 2000 she wins her first prize in a contest at Place des Arts. In less than a year IMA lunches her first Album with an immediate success with the song Baila. In March 2005 another Album appears "Pardonne-moi si je t'aime" whereas her real talent as an author, composer and performer shows up. In 2006, IMA gets the chance to be chosen by Réjean Tremblay to play the role of Sandra Johnson in the popular CBC TV series `Casino'. This magnificent role of a Jazz singer inspires her to create the Album "Smile". In addition as humanitarian IMA is giving her precious time with an open heart for good causes to social Justice. She is the spokeswoman for `Recours des sans-abri' ( [...] ) homeless shelter as she is also proud to hold interests to other organisations such as Amnesty International, - Le club des petits-déjeuners du Québec (Young breakfast club for the young), Oxfam Québec, Greenpeace, Commerce équitable and UNICEF as well. (I thought to give it a try after I've heard her wonderful songs, since someone came here with a link to her intriguing site, and I didn't regret it since) [...] |
