If you are interested in learning the Persian language via a computer program you should consult someone who has already done that. See if it'll work for you too. I know of a web site that has commentaries from people who have used Persian teaching CD programs...select COMMENTS from its side bar. See what they say before you purchase any program. Most CDs are junk. From this web site there are links to numerous Persian Teaching programs that you can easily find what you are looking for.

My advice: do not purchase this or any other Persian teaching CD unless you have the facts.

I would recommend this CD to those who are beginning to study Farsi (Persian). You won't learn the language using this software alone, and you'll outgrow it as soon as yo master the conversation section. You'll still need a good grammar book and a way to hear the spoken language. But in this CD you'll find good exercises that will help you to learn the alphabet and the sounds. The conversation section is very useful, you'll have the chance to hear at normal speed a normal conversation and practice what you can say in those cases (restaurant, taxi, hotel) covered here. And you can see it written down and practice at your pace. But, again, think about it as a supplement , not the basis for study. Movafagh bashid!

The Persian Tutor is unlike any other language learning system I have seen. It an easy to use computer software with games, quizzes, organized charts and notes that are easy gain from and simple to read.

Ahmad Karimi-Hakkak has designed program with a fun interactive game, which enables the Persian (Farsi) student to travel a city in Persia.
Check into hotels, shop in a bazaar, and go to a restaurant and more.

The program teaches the Persian alphabet, words, and basic dialogue. A lot is voice activated, which a great way to learn correct pronunciation.

This would be my first suggestion to some one who is learning Persian, especially beginners. It is definitely a fun and fast way to learn with easy reading unlike thick text one might purchase in order to learn a language.

This should be a $5-10 piece of software. The "interact" scenarios provided are few and not all that helpful. Essentially all you can learn is directions or saying very simple pleasantries. I can say with confidence that anyone would be better off with an audio recording and/or book to learn farsi.

Not only is this product a piece of garbage, it is made by a very horrible teacher. Its an all around waste of money. The program itself is outdated, slow and follows no real logic. Checking into a hotel or restaurant at a Persian city??? Ok, maybe for the retarded. The only good thing about this program is that its on cd. That means that it can fly a lot farther when you realize the mistake you have made.

The Persian Tutor arrived . We have been so engrossed in the CD-ROM. I'd like to say we think it is BRILLIANT! Just what we needed! If SMiles Productions is intending to bring out more software like this please will you keep me informed as it is perfect for our needs in learning the Persian language. I read the reviews, I must say, this is a great place to start and the most economic! My whole family has been using it and having so much fun!

The design of the learning is brilliant! It also works on XP and Vista. The publisher gave me upgrades to work on my computer.

Persian Tutor by Professor Ahmad Karimi-Hakkak is an interactive CD-ROM that is designed with both the beginner through advanced student in mind. Learn the Persian alphabet and beginning reading and writing principles. Practice speaking Persian through exciting and realistic street scenes. Persian Tutor delivers more instruction, more effectively than many other higher priced products on the market today.

This is not a complete course, but its a good place to start, especially since so many get stuck on the alphabet. This CD will teach you the accurate pronunciation of the alphabet - at your own pace. Once you've learned pronunciation and reading, the dialogue section is a lot of fun! You'll like the graphics of the Iranian city: the market place, food, friends, hotel, even the taxi! It's a cultural experience.

This product should be titled "Waste of 40 dollars". I have wasted 3 hours of my life that I will never get back. If you want your money's worth- this is not the product for you. If you want meaningless garbage on cd - contact me and I will custom make one for you - much cheaper.

This software su**s. The first things I want to learn in a new language are NOT how to get medicine for diarreah and headache. THis is what you can learn, it some detail. You can also learn how to order about 5 Persian dishes at a restaurant. What you CANNOT learn from this software is how to say anything you might actually need were you to go to Iran or want to have a conversation with someone in Farsi.
