This Smith Abrasives sharpener is conveniently pocket sized and works very well for sharpening just about anything with a blade. The one I received is slightly different than the one in the "product picture", but it is a better design.

This has a good variety of sharpening edges (see my pictures under "customer images"), including a flat, curved, tapered, and a fishhook groove. The included instructions are printed on the back of the packaging and are adequate for beginners.

This is perfectly sized for keeping in my tackle box!

I only gave this sharpener a four because it will not produce an edge as sharp as I like my knives to have. That being said, I have achieved an edge that will shave the hair on my arm with relative ease. This sharpener is more than worth the money if you are looking for a good portable sharpener for use away from home.

I already own two of these (one for the house and one for my wood shop), but I had the bright idea of buying one as a gift to my pedicurist, who has a drawer full of nicked or slightly dull nippers and other exotic sharp instruments that she hadn't gotten around to throwing out. After quickly touching up a couple, she practically fell on my shoulders sobbing, she was so happy.

Finally, one product that easily sharpens almost any cutting edge! You can slide the blade up or down the rod or move the rod across the blade, depending on the size and shape of your edge. The rounded portion is good for a re-curved edged knife which are usually difficult to sharpen with standard flat stones or pads. The tapered side comes to a very narrow point and will sharpen even small serrations. As small as a pen, it's a must-have! I use a ceramic rod afterwards to fine hone the edge.

I've been looking for this product for quite some time and it works very well. I wanted it as I've used a buddies and seen how well it worked and knew I had to have one.

This has a round end (with flat side) and a tapering end. It will put a sharpe edge on a pocket knife, kitchen knife, hatchet, etc., in a few strokes. Sharpens serrated blades just as well. This is for a working tool, it isn't a polisher/honer. But it will keep your edge exceedingly sharp while you are doing your work or hobby. A dull knife will cut you quicker and cause more injury than a sharp knife because you have to bear down and use more force with a dull tool. It stores within itself and fits in your pocket like a pencil. Handy!

This thing has a good, fast-cutting abrasive that doesn't wear out as far as I can tell. I use it to touch up the edge on kitchen and pocket knives and even wood chisels. It does a very good job in jig time.
