2.0 out of 5 stars Seriously incomplete..., July 17, 2008
By
This review is from: TuneRanger [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
The idea of this program is excellent, but it has one serious, incomprehensible glitch: it does not preserve the order of tracks within albums. If you like to listen to your music randomized, then that is fine, because that is what you will get, but if the sequence matters you have to manually reorder the tracks. Especially for classical music, opera, spoken-word recordings that is onerous. Smith Micro say they will fix this in the next release.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tune Ranger rustled my music, December 7, 2009
This review is from: TuneRanger [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
Bought this app with high hopes for iTunes organization but was sorely disappointed. AS some have written, the "how to" is hard to understand and whether by ignorance or program failure Ranger stole all the info for my music library. I can see the songs but iTunes no longer recognizes them. This appears to be a dangerous program with a difficult interface. Use with caution and "support," if you can find it.
Mac since '84, with all the Zoo

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST PROGRAM I HAVE EVER SEEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, August 11, 2010
This review is from: TuneRanger [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
Let me start off by saying that I am a professional software programmer, so I know of what I speak. As others have said this program CRASHES and BURNS like no other program I have ever encountered. It will run for several hours then crash. There are no flags set in the program, so there are only 2 choices:
1. Start over from the beginning, and waste 2 days. (I have done this 4 times)
2. Deleate this POS program from your comuter. (I only had to do this once!)
DON'T even bother to try it for free. Normally I would try to help debug, but even Billy Mays could not have sold this program. (it is really FUBAR)
