Amazon.com Product Description

The name says it all: the Guide's Choice fishing sunglass is designed to handle everyday use in the most demanding conditions. The Guide's Choice is outfitted with a Grilamid TR-90 frame that serves as the gold standard for active users, with hydrophilic Megol on the nose and temple pads to help ensure a comfortable nonslip fit. The polarized TLT Techlite glass lenses, meanwhile, ensure optical clarity while providing full protection from harmful UV A/B/C rays. Most experts will tell you that glass is the number one material for clarity and scratch resistance, and Smith ups the ante with its TLT Techlite lenses by adding a chemical treatment to increase shatter resistance. Most importantly, the Guide's Choice's polarized lenses reduce 99.9 percent of reflective glare on the water, helping you see the fish clearly even on bright days. Add it all up and you have a terrific sunglass for long afternoons on the water and lazy days at the ballpark. Available in a medium fit, the Guide's Choice is backed by Smith's legendary lifetime warranty.

About Smith Optics

Based in Sun Valley, Idaho, Smith Optics, Inc. was founded in 1965 with the creation of the first-ever goggle featuring a sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam. In the early years, founder Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist by trade, made goggles by hand using dental tools, foam, and glue. Before he struck a deal for manufacturing of Smith goggles in the late 60s, Smith would often trade his creations for lift tickets. These early prototypes were usually manufactured by Smith and friends around the kitchen table.

Building on that goggle heritage and extending its expertise, Smith Sport Optics has gone on to set the standard for high-performance eyewear and goggles. Innovations over the years include the Fog-X anti-fog coating, PMT Perforated Membrane Technology lens ventilation system, patented Turbo C.A.M. Constant Air Management system, patented Regulator adjustable lens ventilation system, patented Roll Off's film advance system for motocross, patented ODS (Ocular Docking System) prescription insert, and patented Slider series sunglasses, the most innovative interchangeable lens sunglass available.

Today, Smith Optics has become synonymous with innovative, durable, top-quality products in the eyewear and goggle market. The company is also recognized for its unparalleled team roster, which boasts some of the top names in biking, motocross, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, and wakeboarding. Like many other companies, Smith utilizes team input as a key element of new product introductions. In addition, Smith athletes are actively involved in the development process for performance testing and coloration selection.

Smith products are sold worldwide in more than 50 countries through specialty and sporting goods stores. From Smith's distortion-free Tapered Lens Technology to the versatility of the Slider Series, with its patented, interchangeable lens system, its devotion to excellence, innovation and style has made Smith goggles and sunglasses the choice of action-sport athletes worldwide. Smith products represent authentic sports gear, researched and tested by a dedicated group of employees and athletes that live and breathe the lifestyle.

Best overall sunglasses ever October 31, 2008
We've all tried all kinds of sunglasses. There's something about these though that were better for me. The precision of the lenses, which ?actually helped compensate sl for my nearsightedness? Can't be sure, supposedly magnification neutral, but try these before buying others, especially for around water, the glare reduction is substantial without the fatique of heavy shade. Might not be strong enough for Hawaii. Probably double polarized would be better there. They also fit my face well, and mine's a hard fit.

Best glasses I've ever owned December 31, 2011
Color Name:Black| Lenscolor:Polarchromic Copper Mirror|Amazon Verified Purchase
These are extremely comfortable glasses. I have the copper mirror colored lenses and they work great for spotting fish while fishing. They are a tad heavier than I like, but I would rather have my glasses weight a little more and get the clarity and durability of a glass lens, so I'm not complaining. Great product. I'll definitely buy another pair if I ever lose the ones I currently own.

Smith Sunglasses November 9, 2011

Color Name:Tortoise| Lenscolor:Polarized Brown|Amazon Verified Purchase
Experienced anglers know the importance of good, polarized sunglasses. Good glasses help the angler see what's happening under the water surface. I sometimes think I see strikes rather than feel them, thanks to polarized glasses. The Smith Guide Choice glasses fit well, are comfortable to wear and ease eye strain at the end of a day. Can't ask for more than that. This is my first pair with brown lenses and they work very well. I like the looks too.
