Amazon.com Product Description

Sporting broad temples and large-coverage lenses that are perfect for medium faces, the Smith Projekt sunglass is stylish and versatile. The Projekt is outfitted with an injection-molded Grilamid TR-90 frame that serves as the gold standard for active users, with hydrophilic Megol on the nose and temple pads to help ensure a comfortable nonslip fit. The carbonic Tapered Lens Technology (TLT) lenses, meanwhile, are contoured so that light travels through without distortion--a major improvement over many other sunglass models. Carbonic lenses are also the most impact-resistant lenses on the market, with an anti-scratch coating that keeps them looking fresh through the years. Available in a medium fit and offering a universal look, the Projekt carries Smith's legendary lifetime warranty.

About Smith Optics

Based in Sun Valley, Idaho, Smith Optics, Inc. was founded in 1965 with the creation of the first-ever goggle featuring a sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam. In the early years, founder Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist by trade, made goggles by hand using dental tools, foam, and glue. Before he struck a deal for manufacturing of Smith goggles in the late 60s, Smith would often trade his creations for lift tickets. These early prototypes were usually manufactured by Smith and friends around the kitchen table.

Building on that goggle heritage and extending its expertise, Smith Sport Optics has gone on to set the standard for high-performance eyewear and goggles. Innovations over the years include the Fog-X anti-fog coating, PMT Perforated Membrane Technology lens ventilation system, patented Turbo C.A.M. Constant Air Management system, patented Regulator adjustable lens ventilation system, patented Roll Off's film advance system for motocross, patented ODS (Ocular Docking System) prescription insert, and patented Slider series sunglasses, the most innovative interchangeable lens sunglass available.

Today, Smith Optics has become synonymous with innovative, durable, top-quality products in the eyewear and goggle market. The company is also recognized for its unparalleled team roster, which boasts some of the top names in biking, motocross, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, and wakeboarding. Like many other companies, Smith utilizes team input as a key element of new product introductions. In addition, Smith athletes are actively involved in the development process for performance testing and coloration selection.

Smith products are sold worldwide in more than 50 countries through specialty and sporting goods stores. From Smith's distortion-free Tapered Lens Technology to the versatility of the Slider Series, with its patented, interchangeable lens system, its devotion to excellence, innovation and style has made Smith goggles and sunglasses the choice of action-sport athletes worldwide. Smith products represent authentic sports gear, researched and tested by a dedicated group of employees and athletes that live and breathe the lifestyle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great driving sunglasses, December 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased these sunglasses recently due to concerns about UV light exposure to my eyes. I have to say that the sunglasses provide full coverage when driving, and are very effective at reducing light. They seem to be very durable, and the cloth pouch that they come in appears to be made of strong yet soft material. The sunglasses rest perfectly on my nose, and do not move around in the slightest. A big gripe for me with sunglasses is when my eyelashes touch the lenses, and in the case of these sunglasses they do not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy, October 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these sunglasses after having the Smith Hudson sunglasses for over two years. I just wanted a new pair and the woodgrain stood out to me. I bought them on amazon because they are cheaper than buying them straight from Smith.

Good vision and good fit for me. The cost was much cheaper at Amazon compared to a local sports store.
