5.0 out of 5 stars Fits a Medium guy perfectly
Smith says large fit/large coverage...no way
Medium fit large coverage but the wrap around makes them fit Med/Med as you wont have large amounts of frame sticking out from your temples.
Frame Measurements, not lens in MM
Temp-Temp 142.5
Widest point 147 (midway down the arm)
Bridge 17
Height 41
Arm 112 from hinge to end. (you wont...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great glasses except for one flaw
I've owned these glasses for 5 years and have gone through two pair. They're great. They fit well and never fall off. The problem is the rubber coating over the earpieces. After several months, they get loose. A few more months down the road and the metal posts inside the rubber start to poke through the rubber. I've owned these glasses for 5 years and have gone through two pair. They're great. They fit well and never fall off. The problem is the rubber coating over the earpieces. After several months, they get loose. A few more months down the road and the metal posts inside the rubber start to poke through the rubber. At this time, I sent them back to Smith, which they covered under their limited lifetime warranty. However, a couple years later and the posts are poking through again. I'll have to send them back.

Came with 4 lens's easy to pop in and out.
Net Net: If you are a guy's medium these will fit perfectly.

Really nice sunglasses. Comes with yellow, clear, bronze and gray lenses which are easy to swap. Yeah, they are pricey, but are good quality. The case is nice too, but I wish there was a bit more room for the extra lenses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great glasses, February 15, 2010

I wear a size 7 hat and these fit great. They have rubber ear pieces to hold them on if you bend over, but they make it impossible to use a croaky. Being tired of gray lenses I love the rc30, wore them in Carribean on vacation and had no trouble at the beach. However I was too chicken to wear them sailing which was a good thing since I did manage to flip the boat. The clear lenses are useless and the yellow too bright except for nite use but who wears sunglasses at night?

2.0 out of 5 stars Not happy this time around., November 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a big fan of Smith Optics. I have actually had several pairs of Smith sunglasses. In particular I have had three pairs of the Threshold model because on two previous occassions other people enjoyed them as well. Unfortunately these people were unable to purchase their own and decided mine were intended for them as a "gift".

So here I am on my third set. Not happy this time around. The lenses do not fit properly. They were firmly in place until I switched lenses so I could ride my motorcycle at night. Upon placing the alternate lenses in I found that mine do not "lock/snap/click" in to place as my old ones have. The lenses basically slide 360 degrees through the frame. The lenses are flimsy and have shifted on me while riding (not fun).

The other problem is the rubber caps on the frame arms are already starting to peel away from the arm. Not exactly ideal in my opinion for glasses that are maybe just over a month old.

I hope I have encountered the rare mishap from Smith Optics. I would truly like to exchange these for a different pair to see if this was a fluke. I suspect when I get the time I will contact Smith directly. I enjoy the abilty to change my lenses, however if this is now the norm, I will be looking into Native eyewear or just have several pairs and get a set of Arnette and and alternate clear set.

These sunglasses have polarized lenses, great coverage from wind, and are very comfortable. I use them as my go-to shades for mountaineering.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile, May 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I already own one pair which I bought in a sport friendly store but for a fairly higher price. As soon as I will received this item, I will return the other one to the store. So the price is definitely right with Amazon.
These sunglasses are versatile because of the different lenses provided. It comes with 4 options which do vary between the models of glasses you buy.
In my case, I had light brown, dark brown, yellow and white.
The light and dark browns are definitely for sun protection purpose. I think one of them is polarized.
The yellow ones are definitely polarized and should be used for night driving. One can also use them when the day is cloudy and the light weak. It tends to give a feeling of more clarity.
The whites ones should be used to protect your eyes from projections of any kind. A good example I can think of would be in a gun range.

The lenses are quite easy to replace and are even sold separately. For the standard ones, a price of about $20 can be expected and for the polarized ones the cost is around $60.
Once installed, they fit well in place and there is little chance of them slipping away.

As for the frame, it is made of light and resistant material and the glasses are quite comfortable.
