5.0 out of 5 stars Prefer over Oakleys
When looking for a new pair of sunglasses I had some requirements that led me to Smith Optics
They needed to be polarized because I fish
I wanted glass lenses because my last pair of expensive oakleys had a scratch within a week and by the time they broke completely and the warranty had run out they had a ton of scratches and pitting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Warranty Service
Smith Optics have terrible warranty service. My lens cracked recently while the glasses were being tranported in the mfg supplied case inside of a padded carry-on bag. I did no impact the lenses in any way. Smith wants to charge me $70 for warranty repair. They didn't care what I had to say, nor that I have literally owned three pairs of these same glasses. I'd...

I didn't want to spend as much money as I had done in the past
When I found these Smith sunglasses they had all my requirements, plus had the added benefits of a lifetime warranty and the polarchromic lenses mean that when I'm out fishing at dusk, I can keep my sunglasses on for the polarization longer.

I've now had them for 6 months and I love them, I got the polarchromic copper lenses with matte black frame for under $100. I ordered them online so I never was able to try them on but they fit nicely, the pads on the sides and nose keep them on my face, the spring hinges bend backwards so you don't break them as easily, and the clarity is excellent and not distorted. If I had to complain about anything I guess the case is bulky but I only use that when they are in my bag if I'm traveling, I'm not worried about leaving them out on the table because I know they're not going to get scratched. and I wish they were a little bit darker for when I'm out in the desert sun, but that too is a small complaint, they are sufficient, and as I said I like that they're not too dark at dusk so that I can keep them on. Also for personal preference I think the next ones I buy will have more of a wrap to them, the Riversides have a medium wrap so on me there's a little gap at the corners of my face which I don't mind except that in the wind I feel like a full wrap would be more comfortable.

I guess that for more intense sports glass lenses aren't recommended but I'm not going back to polycarbonate lenses.

I'm very happy with the quality, the durability and value of these sunglasses.

I'd recommend any of you think twice before buying a product from a company that doesn't stand behind what they build.
