Karambit,
By Daniel Ronsayro "DRonsayro" (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews I have practiced with it a lot more and haven't had that problem since, but this was my first non-fixed blade karambit. I think I'm going to stick to fixed blades.

Solid Knife,

Others have pretty much summed up this knife, but I'll throw in my 2¢. Overall a good take on the karambit design. Very high-quality materials were used here, from the G-10 grip to the liner and blade steel. The blade is very sharp right out of the box and has stayed sharp through the minimal use I've put it through (this is for self-defense more than utility, though the karambit makes a good box opener at times). I would say this blade is curved just barely enough to call it a true karambit, but this was necessary to make it a practical pocket knife, hard to do with this type of knife.
The down-side of all this quality is the weight. It is very heavy for a pocket knife (heck some fixed-blades are lighter). Also it is very large. Not a problem so much if it was just the blade but I only have average hands, and while I can use this knife, a smaller grip would be more comfortable for me. For someone with large hands, this would be perfect. I'd also like the opening to be a bit looser, I think there is one of those annoying California-approved liner lock studs that keep you from being able to just flip it open. The thumb stud is well placed for leverage, so it is not too bad. S&W are a bit hit or miss on there knife designs (very innovative on all though), but this one is most definitely a hit. The best folding karambit-type knife I have seen. Just a word of warning, as with all karambit knives, these are not toys and are designed for one thing, to make really nasty cuts in flesh. Just be careful when using and don't start spinning it around on your finger just cause it has a hole, I've seen too many people without training get really nasty cuts doing this.

Excellent knife!,

This knife is EXTREMELY good quality. It's nice and hefty, which caught my attention, so when I was examining it I noticed many places where S&W could have cheated and thinned out the metal or used less pieces, but they didn't. I've bought two Smith and Wesson knives recently, and I would give them both 6 stars if possible! This knife is DEFINITELY worth your money if you want a good, comfortable karambit.
