These are sturdy, and they double lock. Just as described, a good pair of cuffs.

I collect handcuffs to study and analyze their differences. The Smith and Wesson Model 100 is a solid handcuff. (I believe that they're available for cheaper elsewhere). They are at the cheaper end of the market, so bear that in mind.

I collect handcuffs to study and analyze their differences. The Smith and Wesson Model 100 is a solid handcuff. (I believe that they're available for cheaper elsewhere). They are at the cheaper end of the market, so bear that in mind.

My primary concern for these cuffs is the double-locking feature. Smith and Wesson sometimes uses the odd double-locking bar, which is used by sliding the reverse side of a standard cuff key into the face of the handcuff and sliding it. I do not like this feature. It requires too much attention, as opposed to the push-button variety, which is standard on Peerless cuffs, Hiatt-Thompson, or even the ultra-cheap Chicago cuffs. (In fact, Smith and Wesson offer the Model 100a with the push-button double-locking feature, but I believe it's cheaper not to do so. Other S&W models also feature the push-button.)

In short, if you're handcuffing a willing subject, these cuffs will do nicely. If you're nervous or the subject is a cause for concern, you might want to avoid devoting the attention needed to operate the S&W style double-lock feature. (For some reason, ASP also uses this feature).

These cuffs are an excellent buy for the listed price. Much better than most local retail outlets. A great buy!

this handcuff is pretty good. well you may ask how good is considering good. I'm 160 Ib 5'91/2 male and i don't think i will be able to break it by pulling them apart. it made of carbon steel. It has a double lock function which most good handcuffs do. the double lock can prevent the person to pick the lock or lock them too tight. you can't even unlock this handcuff with key with the douple lock it on. you have to unlock the double locck fist with the key by turning to the opposite side all the way then unlock the cuffs normally.

so over all I would rate it pretty good.

Not your normal double locking mechanisim, where you push the cuff key pin into the hole. In order to double lock them, you have to do it thru the front and put the pin thru a slot and slide till it locks....sliding it down towards the teeth. In my 29 years of Law Enforcement I have never seen these but they work.

This review is from: Smith & Wesson Nickel Model 100 Handcuffs
These are the best, I have my fathers S&W's from 25 years ago! He had cuffed hundreds in them and now gave them to me, in the times I have used them, they were great still! Just oil/Wd40 them every few months and your good! (NY Law Enforcement)
