4.0 out of 5 stars Good Knife..., February 23, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Smith & Wesson SW3000 Swat Large Serrated Liner Lock Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this knife as a replacement of a Smith & Wesson knife that I had for a number of years. This is the same model that I owned previously, however Smith & Wesson has made an improvement with the knife that was not on the previous model I owned. The quality is still exceptional especially for Smith & Wesson product, but I do not necessarily really like the quality of the safety mechanism that has been added to the new production line. The safety has a locking mechanism, and in this particular instance the mechanism feels cheesy, kind of cheap. When the knife is fully extended it locks nice and tight but I just simply don't like the new feature of the safety latch.

Even though I am not happy with a brand-new design compared to the original older design, I still feel that this is a quality knife that anyone would enjoy and would like to have in their collection. because the way they change the locking mechanism I will not give it 5 stars. If I was not able to compare this knife to the older original version...I would most likely give it a 6 star rating. This is a quality knife...once again and I have to stress that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent... Perfect?, May 14, 2011
This review is from: Smith & Wesson SW3000 Swat Large Serrated Liner Lock Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
If this is the same knife that Smith & Wesson sells, and not a fake, then it is just about the best knife I have ever owned. Unfortunately, mine was taken away from me at Miami Intl. airport back in 2008, but I can tell you that they do not get any better than this. Super smooth opening action. Very high quality Construction. If I had to have only one knife for the rest of my life, this would be it!

5.0 out of 5 stars a girl's best friend., April 8, 2011

I've been carrying and using this knife every day for the last 4 years. I absolutely love it. It lost a screw from the handle once, and I've had to resharpen it many times. However, considering the amount of abuse and heavy use I have put this thing through over the years and how well it's held up, it is by far my favorite knife.
