I work in EMS. We were called to the scene of a one vehicle collision. Arriving on scene we found the car to have rolled several times and the patient to be entrapped. I pulled this very knife from my pocket to use the "glass break" on the end. After striking the window several times with no success I put the knife away and used an officers asp to gain entry. The only dammage caused was that the point on the "glass break" has flattened to a nice smooth flat bump. When lives count on you don't trust this to cut it.

i was very pleased to see such a high quality, precision blade, at such a great price. as a former emt, i usually carry a rescue blade, (serrated edge), clip on, because you just never know what you're gonna come across, when driving along.

the seatbelt cutter and window break, (not spring loaded), of this tool really interested me.

when i received this item, i immediately realized it is more of a tactical tool, not so much a "just in case", handy, back-up, pocket knife. it's got some weight on it!

of course, being an s&w, very high quality, very sharp!

great gift for anyone working in iraq, afghanistan, law enforcement or fire department.

The knife is great. One problem, the clip that is held on by three screws will loosen and eventually fall off. I've had two of them. I had to buy one of the small precision screw drivers with the six star head to be able to tighten them down. But no matter what you do, the little screws for some reason seem to back themselves out and eventually the clip falls off. That is how I lost my first one. Other than that, it is an awesome knife.

This knife is HUGE! It came in a small box, but when I picked it up from the mailbox, I was surprised at how heavy this thing was. Razor sharp out of the box, bigger than your average knife, and I can't seem to find any "made in china" tags on the knife. It is not spring assisted and has no mechanism whatsoever to help shoot out the blade, which makes this knife street legal in California (as long as it's not concealed) 5 inch handle, 4.3 inch blade.

The only thing I seem to have against this knife is that it's way too big for anyone to carry as an everyday carry. In comparison to my other knives, this one sticks out like a sore thumb.

Overall I like the knife but mine isn't quite right. One side of the handle is loose, you can feel it slip a tiny bit in your hand. Ive only opened the knife a few times and it is already wearing the black off of the blade where it rubs against the inside of the knife. So it could have been assembled better.
Probably just bad luck on my part, others have had better results from reading the reviews. I'll keep it, because it is more of an emergency tool for me, I won't carry every day.
I like the feel, the grip and the weight of the knife. It is very sharp, solid, heavy.

Out of the box, blade was not very sharp. I would have concerns if I had to cut anything more than paracord. "seat belt" cutter was not sharp either. I am considering tearing the knife down to replace with a real razor blade, as I bought this an an emergency tool for the vehicle, so it would be nice if it works.

Mine had NO blade play and locked up very nicely. Overall the knife feels like you could run over it with a truck and it would be fine, so I will keep it, sharpen it, make a few tweaks, and then toss it in the glove box.

I recommend this knife only as an emergency backup tool, I don't think it is a good idea as an everyday carry knife given weight, size, build quality.

I bought it for my brother as a gift and he really likes it. It is rather large, bigger than I was expecting which is fine. It seems pretty rugged and tough, although he hasn't had it for to long. The seat belt cutter on the back is a cool feature which I am sure could be used for other things where you aren't busy cutting seat belts.

If I were you, I'd spend the extra money and purchase a better knife.
1. The first one I ordered was so dull I had to press down on the blade with a fair amount of pressure to make any mark at all in the skin. Because of this, I sent it back for an exchange; but, the second was just as dull. So, instead of returning this one, I decided to sharpen it.
2. It sharpened nicely, but just as soon as I was done, the peg used to flip the blade out broke off. Luckily, I found the pieces and used some epoxy to seal them back together.
3. The knife is held together by star screws, this includes the belt clip. The clip is now wiggling back and forth due to loose hardware. I don't own a star tool because this type of hardware is relatively unusual; but, I'll own one shortly because I'll be damned if won't make this thing perfect considering the time I've already invested in it.
