4.0 out of 5 stars S&W Standard Fare
This is a nice, high quality knife, as every Smith and Wesson knife I've ever owned or seen has been. Mine arrived a little less than the S&W 'razor sharp' guarantee, but I also own one of their diamond dust sharpeners, so that was easy enough to remedy.

Note: Know your state's weapon laws before carrying any knife around in your pocket. Every state varies...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price.
This is a medium quality knife. I bought it just to add to my collection.

It is full-tang with a textured rubber grip. It's very lightweight. The scabbard is nylon. It has a very slim profile which makes it ideal for a boot knife, but the slim design feels loose in my hand and it doesn't have much of a hilt. I'll reserve it for slicing only.

Note: Know your state's weapon laws before carrying any knife around in your pocket. Every state varies and some have very vague definitions to leave the decisions entirely up to the discretion of the police. This is a pretty safe choice if you are looking for a knife to carry, as it's not a 'dagger' (it is a one sided blade), the blade is less than five and a half inches, and it could conceivably be used as a utility knife.

Have had this knife for 3 1/2 years. Used it on two deployments. Love how it cuts, good balance, and very durable. I can depend on it.

Bought this to replace another boot knife I lost. Its a very good knife but mine came with a duller edge than the S&A razer sharp guarantee that they are known for(need to work on quality control S&A). Also you should know that this knife is not Teflon coated like the description says(if they haven't changed it by know). It is a powder coat finish(possibly Titanium) but it is still very scratch resistant. Other than those 2 problems this knife is very nice and heavy duty. Should hold up to some abuse for a good many years. Now off to the sharpener to finish off the edge properly.

I collect Smith & Wesson knives. This knife demonstrates the quality and design at a reasonable price which I appreciate and keeps me coming back.

I bought this knife and the United Cutlery Combat Commander Boot knife for both throwing and every day use. This knife held up much better. I abused the hell out of both knives and the handle on the United knife broke quickly. I didn't have a problem with this knife until I threw it too hard and sent it completely through a piece of 4 ply plywood which caused it to tear off the handle coating since its rubber which was my fault and knot how the knife was made. I still used it without the rubber coating on the handle which surprisingly I kinda liked better because it allowed the knife to fly better and was better for throwing. The knife finally broke because I threw it wrong and it hit sideways on a sideways piece of wood in the middle after being thrown as hard as I could (I believe this would break any knife). Bottom line I loved this knife and I'm going to buy another one. This knife took a lot of abuse and if you abuse a knife as bad as i did this one it wont last long. If you want a good sturdy knife i highly suggest this knife.

Great blade for the price. It took about 20 minutes to get an edge to my standards. The handle is far from comfortable, but nothing that couldn't be taken care of with trusty 550 cord.

Perfect size and super sharp out of the box. Sheath was nice but a little bit of adhesive inside was pulling apart. I'm a happy camper with this knife.

This is the third Smith and Wesson knife I've purchased over the years. I love all 3 of them and the HRT Boot Knife may be the best of the lot.

This is a solid well made knife. Excellent balance and heft. It was also sharp as a razor coming out of the box. A few passes on my black sharpening stone and it is even sharper. I like the Tanto style blades and this one really impressed me.

This is a good $30-$35 knife. For $14 and change on Amazon it is a bargain.

Purchased this knife. Out of the box it was very sharp. Only downfall I see is the leather holder that comes with the knife is not very secure. The snap goes across the knife handle instead of over the top of it. Otherwise very happy with this purchase.
