Got it today which was about three days after ordering, this knife is awesome! It locks up solid as a rock, very with no play, the blade deploys very fast with a good snap! I have many knives even some high end and all I can say is this knife is a steal for the price! Its made in Taiwan which in my opinion is ten times better than knives made in China. The blade will shave the hair off your arm straight out of the box!

Hello,
I must say that I like this knife. It is not as sharp out of the box as I would have liked, but that's not a biggie. Most people mention the weight. I wear this on my belt for work, so the weight dose not bother me. I would however, not like to carry it in my pocket. Its a little to big for that.

I work as an EMT, so I wanted a durable knife. I had this knife about 3 weeks and the lock broke in it. With the safety on or off, the knife opens. I really did not use this all that much during the 3 weeks I had it either, I only cut a couple of things. However, I looked down one day while riding in the back of the ambulance, and saw that there was a slash in the seat because my knife was open, on my belt. Also, the plastic peace that you use to flick the knife open came loose, so the flicker doesn't always work.

I do really like this knife, unfortunately, not being able to keep it closed is just unacceptable for me. A knife marketed for Military and Police duty, should have been much more durable then this. I give it 2 stars because while I like it, I cannot use it. I still have it too, I threw the box away after I got it, so I couldn't return it.

When I was in high school, all my friends had pocket knives, and they were so cool looking, but I could never afford anything near as good as what they had. I was always jealous because they had these awesome knives that cost them like $50 to $100, and all I had was some cheap flimsy little blade that could barely cut cheese. Now I'm 23 years old and I finally decided to get myself a high quality knife that I could be proud of. I remembered my friends' expensive knives, and that was what I started out looking for, but thanks to Amazon I found that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get great quality tools. I chose this knife out of about 20 other knives I looked at and I don't regret my decision one bit. This thing is great. It has a nice weight to it, it's extremely solid and sturdy, hasn't come loose or wobbled in its joints yet, and I've had it for about 6 months now. It holds a fantastic edge, feels great and very natural in my hand, and the Assisted Open feature is awesome. I love the size, and the 40% serration is perfect. Any more or less would reduce its usefulness in my opinion. I use this knife almost every day and I hardly ever have to sharpen it.

In fact, it comes so sharp out of the package that I accidentally cut my thumb open when I wasn't careful enough closing it and I had to get 4 stitches. I cut my thumb all the way to a nerve, and even though the cut has healed, I still can't feel anything at all where I cut it. It's completely numb. There are only two things I am not particularly fond of with this knife, but they are not enough to warrant a reduction in my 5 star rating: 1) When clipped on my belt, the glass breaker is slightly uncomfortable when sitting down unless I have my shirt tucked in or I position it at an angle. 2) I wish it had a seat belt cutter.

I bought this knife as a gift for my friend and was quite impressed with it. I already own several S&W knives and a firearm, so you could consider me a collector, and this piece is no less in quality than the rest of their products. I will mention however if you tried this at a knife store, the release button for the blade is very firm compared to the store's model, obviously the one at the store is used frequently and gets easier to open, but it is quite firm. Also, like all S&W knives it comes razor sharp, be warned, some knives are 'sharp' and others will split hairs.

I should note that the shipping on this item... takes several weeks, I have no clue why when it shows as 'in stock'. I ordered it as a birthday gift, and it wasnt even going to ship till two weeks after his birthday. Honestly I've bought other things that said 'in stock' and it shipped next day, so....
It's a great knife, but if you can buy at a local store, do so. I had to buy online because no one had one in stock here, my local knife shop had just sold out of them(popular item).

I initially bought this knife due in large part to its design. I liked the shared aesthetic similarities between it and Smith & Wesson's firearms, and I thought the spring-assisted deployment would be a handy feature. What I hadn't accounted for was just solid feeling this knife is. This knife has some heft and isn't something you can just slip in your pocket and forget about. Thankfully, it includes a well-made belt clip, and with its styling, it's not something you're going to mind being seen with on your hip. The knife's solid build gives it a very quality feel, which also means that unlike a lot of "rescue" knives I've had, I'd actually feel confident in gripping the knife and using the included window punch tip located on its base.

The spring-assist opening feature works very well; you pull back on the button that's designed to look like a gun sight, and the blade deploys. When closing the blade, the last 45 degrees of travel requires a little more force due to the spring, but that's the trade-off with pretty much every spring-assisted knife. There is also a safety lock to prevent accidental deployment that looks like the thumb-lock on a pistol. Mine has always worked very well, locking into both positions with a positive "click", and it requires purposeful force to move the safety switch between positions. It adds that much more to the knife's tactical aesthetic, but it's also necessity to make sure the blade deploying button doesn't accidentally actuate in your pocket or bag.

The main blade came sharp from the factory, both on the straight edge and the serrations. I always prefer partially-serrated pocket knives if I have a choice, as it makes cutting rope and cord a much easier affair.
