To my belief, you the customer are pretty much paying for the brand name, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, however for a 2 1/2 inch blade which is made in china is not really a good value at all, now that being said, the handle feels sturdy and will be able to take a few beatings. Of course this isn't a bad knife, its purpose is clear and out in the woods deer hunting and wanting to skin is where this sucker comes in handy. The black sheath fells cheaply made but thick enough never to wear through, as far as blade durability have to get back to you after hunting season.

I have not used this yet, but can tell you that right out of the box it came in, it needed to be sharpened. It wasnt dull, but it wasnt sharp enough for my tastes either. Good feel to it and it seems like its well made. It went into my SHTF pack.
