These were my first set of throwing knives, they are awesome. I threw these knives for weeks eventually they started to break, I contacted the distributor and they said send them in and they would be replaced at no charge, I had to include $6.95 for shipping. If you are looking for a starter set to develop you throwing technique these knives will take an amazing amount of punishment.

I have a couple of years experience throwing knives and while I have broken tips on some of my knives, I have never actually broken a knife clean in half like these. Within the first week of owning them half the knives broke right in half by the circle in the center. I did buy the bigger set of these knives and loved them, which led me to buy these. To put it simply, don't waste your time with these, get the 3 set of the size up.

For the price I expected way more than I got. I purchased these to learn a no-spin technique, but I am disappointed at how easily the blade tips have bent. I have a number of throwers that cost half the price and these are the first that I've had the problem with the tips bending.

these knives are alright beginner knives. I broke 4 in a week and a half, throwing about an hour a day. they break in the same spot. I like them as my first knives but looking at different knives now that I am a little better at throwing.

I've read the other reviews and at first was not happy myself but now after practicing a few weeks, Ill take these over others I have. They stick solid after a 'right on' throw. Tumble or straight throw. Yes they bounced around and got nicked up, bent tips and even metal splinters. BUT, now that my throwing has improved I think they are great and plan on getting the 10 inch throwers. I have a concrete floor and so the damage to the knives came from that. I straightened the tips, cleaned up the edges and since I HIT my target (most of the time) now have not had a damaged knife. My thoughts are, don't use these as a cheap first set, GET a cheap first set then try these. I throw these right along side my lightweight beginner cheapies and they perform just the same. Technique is the key, not the knife. These knives use less effort to throw because of the weight and mass of the steel. I would recomend these to a friend with the advice of not as beginner set. Great price for the product here at Amazon. Great product from S&W.

Absolutely a pleasure to throw and has so far withstood ALL of my misses, flat hits, backward hits, and straight on sticks. Very worthwhile purchase. The set of 6 and the nylon sheath are EXTREMELY durable and have kept walking back and forth to the wood plank target I built. These are extremely well balanced dead center, are NOT sharp on the edges, and after well over 300 throws not one SINGLE problem with them. I built a really nice 6 plank soft pine target board out of scrap pine that is approx. 30 inches wide by 50 inches tall and this has allowed me to find my proper throwing distance, which then allowed me to work on stance and release posture. The first time I stuck 4 out of 6 in a row I knew I was going to love this sport and it only took me about 200-250 throws to do it. lol S&W has made a great set of knives with this set. I highly recommend them to anyone starting out.

These knives exceeded my standards! I'm a rookie thrower and my throwing skills have only gotten better with these. At first the weight took some time to get used to, but they have withstood everything! Even the concrete wall behind my target stand with no chipping or breaking of the tips. Smith & Wesson is an amazing brand and I'm 100% impressed with the longevity of these knives. Definitely recommend no matter what skill level you are!

a little small for me but kids love them. tips have bent on a couple of knifes probably from hitting some knots, but straightened right out. I had to grind edge of handle because knifes were hitting each other and shaving bits of metal and getting in my hands. but for the price and 6 knifes they are very good for beginners.
