5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic quality, comfort, and protection
I use this for noise reduction at work while loud devices are being used (sounds like a 2 second gunshot going off every 20 seconds for length of time). Previously used earplugs (Howard Leight Max NRR 33) with little help for the noise. I have used these since I received them a few days ago and very pleased with the quality and comfort, as well as protection...

Amazon provides less and less information on products sold on their website.
Though these ear muffs bear the Smith & Wesson logo that's where the association with S&W ends. The ear muffs are rated for an NRR of 25 db, and look good; however, they are made in China for Jackson Safety which is a division of Kimberly Clark. Since I do not trust the quality of any...

I use this for noise reduction at work while loud devices are being used (sounds like a 2 second gunshot going off every 20 seconds for length of time). Previously used earplugs (Howard Leight Max NRR 33) with little help for the noise. I have used these since I received them a few days ago and very pleased with the quality and comfort, as well as protection.
These are so nice to wear - they feel fantastic, are adjustable, very cushy and comfy, and protect from noise MUCH better than the earplugs even though the NRR is less - likely because of the mastoid bone behind the ear being protected.
I figured if people are happy using this for real gunshots, this should be great for what sounds "like" a gunshot.
No doubt this will serve well for people looking for noise-reduction of any kind (during studying, airline flights with crying babies, etc).

Simple product but works well and is comfortable to wear for extended periods. Stores well in my range bag. A good choice and good quality for the price. No need to spend more.

These are serviceable ear protection at a great price. A must have for any shooting enthusiast even if you have a more expensive option.

The sound reduction for these ear muffs is quite good though after prolonged use they start to get uncomfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price and noise reducer, November 12, 2011

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this very inexpensive product works. With 4 kids running around, it greatly reduced the noise level around me, so I could get some of my work done. I might have given this product a 4 star rating, but for the price I felt it should get a 5. The only two small drawbacks are it is a bit tight on my head even at the largest setting, so it can get a bit pressured after wearing for a while; however, I have to say I do have a large head, so it most likely won't be the case for everyone. My older kids love using it in the car when studying on the way to school while the little ones are watching their kid shows over the stereo system. They have no problem with the pressure because their heads are much smaller. Secondly, I am skeptical about the small width of the plastic sliders holding on the ear muffs to the slide adjustment, they look as if they could break easily. I've only had them a short time, so I can't speak to their durability yet. I gave it a 5 because it really makes the room quiet and did so at a great price. I liked them well enough to buy a 2nd pair to have in the car at all times.

You wont find a better sound suppressing ear guard on the market for less than twice the price of these. They are comfortable enough to wear for long periods at a time, and my last pair lasted me about 5 years of heavy use.

The ear muffs are rated for an NRR of 25 db, and look good; however, they are made in China for Jackson Safety which is a division of Kimberly Clark. Since I do not trust the quality of any plastic products made in China, I am returning them to Amazon. Amazon needs to clearly identify products that are made abroad. I am purchasing the 3M Peltor H10A for almost the same price; these are rated NRR 30 db and are made in the USA.

Can NOT find any better for the price. Comfort and high rating, good for using with my .50 caliber rifle. I would buy these again and plan on making a gift of them.
