I only give this knife 1 star because it has a really nice sheath otherwise this knife is worthless if you intend to use the knife for any real work. This knife failed and dented after half hour of first use spitting cedar stuff I could have done with my 8 inch buck and have for 15 years. The blade dented, and other pieces became loose. It was returned and the same thing happened first time. I am one who treats and respects all things and I can say this is not a work knife. This product should only be sold and advertised as a show knife. Caution beware of retailers selling knife without reviews.

Will,for 40 bucks+ shipping&handling.I expected a little bit more,but very dissappointed.You get a cheap steel, made in China (no offense to ethnicity,great people,and my wife is part Chinese).In the picture,the sheath looks nice,got the order, and what do I get IT'S PLEATHER!!!(cheap imitation) Come on guys if your going to put a respectable name on something,atleast have a top quaulity Knife with a top grain quality leather sheath.I guess I was'nt feeling...lucky.... owning a (S & W) bowie knife.I'll just carry my S&W 44 magnum 629 classic.Thank you

Great shape but weak steel , is made in china! ,only for visual purpouse not for 4x4 use.

Since my name is Bowie, and having researched the Bowie Knife in several books and periodicals, I believe this version of the famous Bowie Knife to be as accurate as any I have seen. I would recommend it to those who wish to have the knife in as accurate a rendition as it is possible to get.

If you're looking for a big, hefty knife, the Smith & Wesson line of Bowie knives are a great value. Made of 440C stainless steel, this is a very good knife steel that holds an edge. Well made and well balanced, with more of the weight distributed toward the front. The handle is a beautiful wood, and reasonably comfortable for a larger hand. This is not a lightweight knife by any means. I've used it mostly for target cutting cardboard boxes, tubes, etc. and it is impressive in its ability to slice clean and deep with little effort. A good companion for hunting and wilderness hiking.
