4.0 out of 5 stars Wigglesworth is too deep for modern Christianity
This is a huge book. This book is said to contain the complete lifetime teachings of British evangelist Smith Wigglesworth. It is a gem, a treasure, a vast storehouse of Holy Ghost wisdom and glory. Just reading the words of Wigglesworth is enough to give you an idea of what kind of anointing this man of God had.

I've heard stories of Wigglesworth meetings...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Vital, Not Essential, and Not Worth It!
This is perhaps the most beautiful book I own on the outside. The cover is awesome! But the written material inside leaves little to be desired. There is some historical significance in the sermons presented, and Smith Wigglesworth's focus was on God. However, reading these sermons leaves the reader questioning how he can perform the miracles rather than how great God...

4.0 out of 5 stars Wigglesworth is too deep for modern Christianity, August 30, 2004

This review is from: Smith Wigglesworth: The Complete Collection of His Life Teachings (Hardcover)

I've heard stories of Wigglesworth meetings back in the 20's and 30's where the power of God would fall so heavily that clergymen and pastors would fall out of their chairs when Smith prayed. There is an account of Wigglesworth raising a man from the dead, embalmed and in a casket at a funeral home. When someone like that preaches Jesus and has a teaching from the Word of God, you can bet I want to listen! This book is full of his teachings.

Obviously, the teachings are deep and center around complete surrender to the Holy Ghost. Brokeness and holiness are two other factors continually mentioned. The more you read this stuff, the more you realize just how infatuated, possessed, and full of faith this simple man was. He was totally unschooled growing up, not learning how to read until he was in his late 20's! The only book he ever read was the Bible. He drove out demons in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, healed the sick, raised the dead, spoke in tongues, opened blind eyes, unstopped deaf ears. He was a real, modern apostle (and without going to seminary school). This is how God would like to use all of us, but like Smith Wigglesworth would always say, "There is a great price to pay..."

Wigglesworth took God blindly at His Word. No wonder he is now known as the "Apostle of Faith" -- and the great pioneer of the pentecostal faith. Buy the book (it is really for mature Christians) and read the messages slowly. And do some research on his life; it is really fascinating to read how this guy lived the book of Acts. He even raised his wife from the dead (but let her go back when she said Jesus was calling her). This stuff is really too deep for the average Christian to digest fully (especially for those primarily fed from Newsboys songs and Michael W. Smith worship). This is a whole other level of serving God. Can you handle it?

This collection of sermons has become part of my daily devotions. Wigglesworth has a unique gift for illuminating Jesus. The lessons and stories are saturated with the annointing of the Holy One and will enliven your faith, quicken your spirit, and increase your hunger and thirst for the things of God. This is must reading for every child of the Lord who wants an "ever-increasing faith"!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Anointed Book Next to the Holy Bible, January 4, 2002

Colin (An English Missionary in Asia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Smith Wigglesworth: The Complete Collection of His Life Teachings (Hardcover)
"If I had to choose just two books to own, I'd have the Holy Bible and this collection of Smith Wigglesworth sermons. Smith was an unexceptional Yorkshire plumber who was saved as a boy, and grew into a stout-hearted Christian. But after receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in the 1907 Sunderland revival, at the age of 48, the Lord transformed Wigglesworth into England's greatest evangelist. For the next 40 years, Jesus' ministry and power flowed through Smith, healing, delivering and saving countless souls around the world. His life practically became a continuation of the Acts of the Apostles, with at least a dozen people raised from the dead, and all manner of sickness healed.

His electrifying preaching was taken down in short-hand, and carries the most powerful anointing of anything I've read outside of the Bible. His sermons and teachings are still reaping results today in ever-increasing measure. When you read them, you'll understand why.

There's no 'side' to Wigglesworth, no show, just the Living Christ and Holy Spirit working through a yeilded servant. He truly deserves the accolade, 'Apostle of faith', but like all genuine Holy Ghost preachers, his message is Christ, and leaves his hearers healed, saved, and hungry for righteousness. The Lord confirming His Word with signs miracles and wonders.
Look at these sermon titles, and buy the book now.

Our Risen Christ.
The Power in the Name.
I AM The Lord Who Healeth Thee.
Wilt Thou be made Whole?
What it means to Be Filled With the Holy Spirit

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be on every Christian's bookshelf - Essential, January 20, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Smith Wigglesworth: The Complete Collection of His Life Teachings (Hardcover)
What can I say? A life - changing book! Chuck away all the dross and light and chaffy "Christian" books that have cluttered your bookshelves over the years. Get into Smith Wigglesworth, see how he lived close to his Lord, and go and do likewise. You'll realise where you've been going wrong. This man lived as he preached. It's a pity we can't find ministry like this today. How many of today's "name it and claim it" prosperity preachers could either live the humble lifestyle Smith did, and at the same time claim to have raised people from the dead in the power of the Lord??!! Buy it now!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Vital Resource For Anyone Wanting God's Fullness, November 27, 2003
By
Justin McIntosh "Justin" (Adelaide - South Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Smith Wigglesworth: The Complete Collection of His Life Teachings (Hardcover)
Are you hungry for more and more of God?

This book is a vital resource for you. Pay anything to get it! It is not a biography but a big collection of sermons and testimonies from Wigglesworth himself. As such the Spirit-filled power with which he ministered & preached years ago becomes tangibly present as you read.

God validated Smith Wigglesworth's proclamations time and time again with demonstrations of His power. As such Smith speaks with TRUE authority, as one who walked what he talked.

What makes this such a treasure is that it is not only inspirational and biblical, but it is also intensely PRACTICAL. He tells us HOW we can walk in God's fullness, what our heart attitude must be like, what costs come with this walk, and practical 'inside' information into deliverance, sickness, etc. And at all times his focus is on Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

If you are someone who reads the book of Acts with longing you need this book. Next to the Word this is a must-get....if you can find it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Deal, December 8, 2005
This review is from: Smith Wigglesworth: The Complete Collection of His Life Teachings (Hardcover)
Smith was a real person with real problems. And yet he sought God. He was a God chaser. He wanted more of the Holy Spirit. And he loved people. And that drove him to bring people to other healers and Prophets. And then one day God started using Smith to heal the people himself. And then it got big.

Smith was not a man of the World. He was a man of the word. And that changed his life and his ministry.

People that claim this book is dangerous are just afraid to find out that they too could do miracles if they would surrender their life and follow God with all that they are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing teachings, September 4, 2006
This review is from: Smith Wigglesworth: The Complete Collection of His Life Teachings (Hardcover)
You will not find many quality teachings on the Holy Spirit with the modern teachers quite like you will in this book.

As other reviewers have testified, Smith Wigglesworth was dependant on the Holy Spirit, and it is perfectly clear that outside this he was dealing in his own strength. The Holy Spirit is all about G-d and less of us - in fact the 'death' to our flesh. Are you prepared for that? For the mature Christian this mindset is challenging, and will draw you closer to G-d and further away from the world and your word of faith friends who want blessings for themselves and rather for the Glory of G-d.
