Today Smith offers a full line of easy-to-use sharpeners from all five major sharpening categories: 100-percent natural Arkansas stones, diamonds, ceramics, bonded abrasives and carbides.

The Ultimate in Sharpening Technology
Smith’s Diamond Bench Stones are excellent for sharpening wide woodworking tools, large or small sport, pocket knives, or kitchen knives.
The stones’ surface features multiple layers of micron-sized, mono-crystalline diamonds bonded in nickel to a flat metal surface. The stones have a patented, overlapping oval-hole design that speeds sharpening by collecting and holding the metal filings that ordinarily build up during the sharpening process and allowing the sharpening surface to remain clean and clear.
Both have a Micro-Tool Sharpening Pad. This is the area that has a solid surface of diamond coating that is not interrupted. It is used for sharpening small tools and the tip of your knife blade.
These Diamond Bench Stones can be used with or without a sharpening lubricant, but Smith’s strongly recommends using our Premium Honing Solution when sharpening with these stones for best results.

Remember to NEVER use water on this thing while sharpening; just clean the diamond surface of metal, and you're good to go.
