This review is from: Smithsonian Book of Flight (Hardcover)
Walt always delivers the best of aviation history. He manages to bring the man and machine into perspective. I am not sure he will be able to quote the maximum load capacity of a Phantom II on a bombing mission to Hanoi, but he sure will know what Dr. von Ohain and Sir Frank Whittle have in common. It is this insight that will always seperate Boyne from his contemporaries, and make his books a rewarding reading experience. |
