Easy to install and looks great.

I used quite a bit of pressure on the drill motor into the screw but kept the drill speed very low.

The bags are good but some of us have other bags that we will want to use.

The finished product looks great, however the installation was way too difficult. Honestly it would have been a lot easier if i had just not read instructions, the instructions call for you to use a 7/64 drill bit but that only lead to stripped screws. I would recommend using a 9/64 bit, the screws go in a lot easier while still retaining their grip on the tailgate metal.

This is a great little addition to your jeep. Like the other reviews, I agree the installation can be difficult unless you listen to "Awesome's" review and USE A 9/64 BIT. Knowing that makes installation simple. A couple of tips...

- Make sure it's placed EXACTLY where you want it before drilling. Use some duct tape to hang it and iron out any bends in the cover.

- Mask the area where you will be drilling the hole to keep the paint from chipping. Blue painter's tape is fine.

- Grab yourself some MOPAR TOUCH UP PAINT ANY COLOR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP OEM and cover the exposed metal in and around the holes before screwing it in.

- Search "Molle Gear" on Amazon.com for additional bags and gear that can be hung on the cover.

I needed more room to keep my offroad tools and gave this a try. I was surprised at how much I was able to put in these two bags! Looks great and was easy to install (have someone give you a hand, after the first hole is drilled, to help stretch it out so you won't have any sagging). Some Reviewers have had issues with the self-tapping screws but I had no issues. I pre-drilled my holes and went from there...

The only thing I didn't care for was the exposed philips head screws. They do make black philips head caps that can be applied if it's a huge issue for you.

Seems to be well made with heavy materials and double stitched seams and zippers. Looks nice and keeps your gear from clanking around in the back.

**** One Year Update ****

After a full year of abuse I can say that this storage system has held up without issues. Here's what I keep in my bags:
1 50' Bubba Rope
1 Tree saver
2 7/8" pin D-Rings
1 20k lbs. snatch block
1 winch remote
1 rubber mallet
2 long screw drivers (philips and flat)
1 large Channel locks
1 full set of deep sockets with ratchet and extenders
2 sets of vice grips (small and large)
1 set of needle nose
1 air compressor hose with accessories
1 pair of gloves
1 Leatherman MUT Tactical Multi-Tool

The above weighs a ton and has been hanging there for a full year with heavy use. The zippers are fully intact and the material has held up without flaw. No rips or anything like that. I do have some sagging but this is because I have the bags so over-loaded. This is a great storage solution that has held up. I would buy this again if I had to...no doubts.

When you get done, it looks pretty good (amazon pic does not match item btw - but I verified the stock number against what they said would fit my 2010 Jeep JK and it did). The problem is getting it installed. You drill holes in the tailgate. No problem there... but then us their self-tapping screws. I should be putting quotes around the self-tapping part. They strip very easily, and are softer in material than the tailgate steel (hard to believe I know). If they know that these get screwed up so easily, they could at least give a couple extras (come on Smittybilt spend an extra $0.25), but they don't.

On the plus side it adds some much needed storage space to the back end of the Jeep.

Installs easy, but I did not use the cheap screws that came with the kit. I got heavy grade screws and it works way better. Looks good when done. The big pouch will hold a couple of 20 foot straps. The smaller one can hold small stuff like air gage and chuck, flash lights and thing like that easy.

When I saw this setup I thought it was brilliant. The back door of the JK is mildly unfinished and at times when I ride with my seat out I will get road noise through the vents on the back of the Jeep. I purchased this because I like the idea of carrying some equipment back there and because it finishes out the door a bit.

Installation was a bit of a trick, not to bad. I read the instructions and others reviews and adjusted them to my style.

I taped the door cover onto the door just to align the device. I then marked two upper outer screw holes, Removed the device and drilled, painted and installed the screws. Next I did the middle for the top row in the same fashion. I followed this process all the way around the door until I hit the last one. this resulted in the device being pulled nice and tight and looking good.

I was concerned about mounting the panel to low, but in the end it was not a big deal due to the way the door closes.

Items to consider to use with this one:

Rip away Med Bag: [...]
MagPul Speed Threader [...] this is a must if you have alot of Molle Stuff!)

I just installed this on my new 2013 wrangler unlimited sport a few days ago. I had absolutely no trouble at all with the installation. I put the first screw in the corner and went one at a time pulling it as tight as tight as i could before drilling the next hole. Some have said the screws that came with this product were not that good but I had no trouble with them, I used a standard phillips screwdriver and they went in no problem. So far I really like this product, It looks really nice and gives the added storage space I needed.
