3.0 out of 5 stars mixed bag, January 28, 2001

This mid-seventies recording is one of Le Orme's weaker recordings. Where half of the disc is really quite good, the other half gives way to poppy production and compositions. A shame really as this brilliant prog outfit still had a lot to say (see later 70's recordings). This one is not essential...Simon

I agree with the other reviewer. This album was released in 1975-1976 time frame in Europe, just after the English Progressive Pop group 10cc had had a string of hits in the English-speaking world ("Life is a Minestrone", "Rubber Bullets", etc.) topping off with a huge global mega-hit, "I'm Not In Love" which I think went top 5 in almost every country that had Rock radio, and was Number #1 in the US, UK and probably W. Europe; after which the style of those 10cc singles became a fashionable International Mode for Pop Music (imitators like Pilot started appearing) and even Orme, usually had been a resaonably advancing Prog group, took a diversion here with all these songs that sound like 10cc translation. Orme resumed their former course next year with a great record, and continues until they were quite magnificent by decades end- stripping away the electric instruments and adopting acoustic instruments with amplifiers. If you are looking for great music by guys who got into rock via lessons in Albinoni, et al, stay away from this one. Get instead their Stlorio o Legenda, Florien, and the one with the Bee on the Flower on the cover.
