This book is not the best in the series but you need to read it anyway. I have read it 3 times already and I still enjoy it. It places the Rebels against a terrorist who believes himself a religious person. The Rebels once again take up arms and start kicking the ass off of lots of people. I think the general population shall like this adition to the series.

With the Hot Fart (Ben Raines' verbage) Khamsin invading along the southern tier of America, Ben and his people discover a new threat. The Night People, cannibalistic heathens who hide in the sewers and underground of cities, have come out and made themselves known. Ben and his people must now fight both them and the Lybian in an attempt to regain America.

Typically a good book. I believe the many pages devoted to Emil and Brother Mathews, complete nonsense, did not contribute to this book whatsoever. These should could have been easily left out with more time devoted to the ending. The ending was somewhat obscure and would have certainly benefited from a few more pages

Raines is on the move again to take out the Libyan Islamic People's Army in addition to fighting a well-equipped warload who goes by the name "Ashley". Somewhere along the way, Ashley and Ben have crossed paths before, but Ashley carries with him a 20 year hatred for Ben Raines for a wrong done to him long ago. Meanwhile, Ben Raines's son from Sister Voleta, Butch, comes into the fold and is now re-united with his father to clear the land of the IPA and Ashley once and for all. Along the way, we learn what happened within Atlanta and across the nation to those who were left in the aftermath of the nuclear fall-out and biological and germ warfare that ensued the rebels back in '88. Needless to say, this book is well written as Johnstone is known for and will keep you glued to it's pages wanting to read cover to cover.
I'm on to the next book in the series, Danger in the Ashes, and will report shortly.
