ETS is the acronym for environmental tobacco smoke, otherwise known as secondary, or residual, smoke. Studies on the health consequences of ETS are not so numerous as those on active smoking, but the results indicate similar negative effects. This little volume condenses the statistical information into lay language, provides a form to assess one's exposure to ETS, and suggests ways and means to eliminate it from one's world. Several examples of policies from a variety of governmental units in the United States and Canada are cited. A handy introduction to the topic, although pricey.Sondra Brunhumer, Westen Michigan Univ.
