Tadpoles - 'Smoke Ghost' (Bakery Records), April 15, 2011

Third (out of four) CD's by this highly-talent psychedelic / indie rock band from Hoboken, New Jersey. Songs that make this title a keeper are "When I Feel", the uplifting "Happy Feet", "Know Your Ghosts", the awesome "Firecracker" and the nine-minute "Percolate". Line-up: Nick Kramer - guitar & vocals, Todd Parker - guitar & synthesizer, David Max - bass and Adam Boyette - drums. Might appeal to fans of King Missle, Bongwater, Beck and possibly Gang Of Four. I'm now hearing all four of the 'actual' CD's by the Tadpoles and even though all four titles are great efforts - this one 'Smoke Ghost' appears to perhaps have a slighty different vibe than the other three. Nonetheless, it all makes for fine listening.
