This is definitely worth the money. Duckdown has produced a gem here. B-Real's masonic flow is 2nd to none. A definitive must buy!!!

Even though I like hearing B-Real over crazy bonged out Cypress Hill beats and the lack of DJ Muggs does take away something from this release, Smoke N Mirrors still turns out to be an above average to very good album. The Alchemist, Scoop DeVille, Sick Jacken and B-Real himself all make contributions behind the mixing boards. B-real rhymes on this album are some of his best often overshadowing the beat. Smoke n Mirrors turns out to be a good release that C.H. diehard fans should for the most part enjoy.

So this is B-Real's first official solo album. I'm a big Cypress Hill fan but I didn't peep the gunslinger mixtapes. This is my first taste of B-Real without Muggs, Bobo, or Sen Dog and I have to say the man can do it solo!
I've only spun it a couple of times but I have no problem giving this a solid 4 stars. Maybe a little more on a good day. B-Real's flow is impeccable, his lyrics are nice, and the beats are banging. This album has a more bounce west-coast feel to it, but it has some real east coast bangers too! Cypress Hill was always about blending styles and this is no different. The songs with Snoop (Dr. Hyphenstein) and Too Short (When We're F**king) are very dope, but Mr. X-Z makes the best appearance on Don't Ya Dare Laugh. Cypress Hill and B-Real fans definitely pick this up! Even non-Hill heads should pick this up! One of the best of 2009 so far!

IF YOU ARE A REAL CYPRESS HILL FAN YOU SHOULD GET THIS. I WAS A LITTLE HESITANT AT FIRST BUT PICKED IT UP ANYWAY. HIS FLOW IS STILL ON POINT AND THE BEATS ARE SICK. I RECOMMEND THIS ALBUM.

I've been listening to this album lately and it's pretty sick. Most of the tracks are cool I found myself downloading most. My top picks:
Smoke N Mirrors Everything You Want Psycho Realm Revolution 1 Life Dude Vs Homie When They Hate You Most of those songs are like 4.5 or 5 stars. B-Real's on his thing with the lyrics and flow and the beats are off the hook. Everything has a different feel to it. "When They Hate You" and "Dude Vs. Homie" take you through a smooth story-teling trip. "When We're F****" is cool too but I stopped listening to it because Too Short ruins the song. Stupid lyrics, stupid flow, annoying voice, overall ignorant. I hate Too Short. Also, there's skits at the end of most songs which is annoying when you're bumping a song and then you hear mayates yelling. Other than that and a few average songs, the album's slick.

WACK HOOKS...WHY?,

THIS WAS A SOLID ALBUM, THE FIRST COUPLE OF TRACKS ARE DEFINETLY GONNA GET SKIPPED , BUT RIGHT BEFORE THE SNOOP DOGG TRACK AND ON THROUGH THE REST OF THE ALBUM IT GETS GOOD, THE BEATS ARE OK BUT THEY GET GREAT TOWARDS THE END OF THE ALBUM. I WASN'T FEELING A LOT OF THE HOOKS HE USED, ESPECIALLY THE R+B HOOKS...NOTHING BRINGS DOWN THE QUALITY OF A HIP HOP ALBUM LIKE R+B HOOKS....THEY TAKE AWAY FROM THE FAST WORD PLAY AND THE TONE OF THE MUSIC ITSELF. IT DOESN'T SOUND AS "STREET" TO ME WHEN SOME CHICK STARTS SINGING, BUT OTHER THAN THAT HE GETS 3 STARS ON THE STRENGTH OF HIS LYRICS AND HIS STELLAR PRODUCTION. BUT WE COULD HAVE DONE WITH OUT SOME OF THE FILLER TOWARDS THE BEGINING OF THE ALBUM.
