This ashtray works pretty good. It snuffs lit cigs when they are put into the hole at the top. I suppose there just isnt enough air in the unit to keep them burning. Plus I like the height of the thing. The other astrays Ive seen make you bend over to use them. It is also very easy to take apart and put back together. It snaps. No screws, or threads at all. It also has a small galvanized pail that holds all the old butts. Just grab the handle and dump in the trash. Clean and easy.
It also sheds water pretty good. I had to add sand to the inside to keep wind from moving it though. It was too light. Other than that we like it a lot as it keeps the area outside the door clean. Highly recommended.

I love this butt receptacle! Sleek, sturdy, and easy to open. With smokers for family and friends, this keeps the odor down and the unsightly yuk of weathered butts in ashtrays down. I'm thinking of ordering more for various other outdoor locations on my property.

Better made than many of the similar products. Thicker guage plastic and a design that looks a bit classier than most of these. Black hides all the soot and dirt that cigarettes will make. I only decided to review this because Amazon needs more reviewers that are not trying to sell a product. I own a billiard parlor in St. Louis and this product seems to have the durability I need.

This product is very nice looking. You can hardly notice you have and ash tray sitting around your patio. The top snaps off for easy cleaning. It has a galvanized bucket in the bottom of the plastic outer casing to catch the butts. It stands nice and tall, and is super simple to assemble.

I'm very happy that I bought this! It has blown over a couple of times, so I just put a rock in the bottom and it's been fine since. It's a great way to hide the butts and my kids don't get into them. Love it.

Product was affordable and works great. The main reason I purchased was to reduce risk of fire and have a place to dispose of the cigerettes with style.

The top and the bottom plastic parts are supposed to snap together. Well, the bottom piece was bent and not symmetrical, even though it seemed to have been well packaged. I could not put it together myself, and I am not a weak lady. My guy friends tried and it took some serious muscle. But then we could not open it! It unsnapped with even more effort. We pictured having to go through this much trouble to open this receptacle full of cigarette butts and decided to get a different model.

Seller was extremely nice, though. Refunded the money very quickly. I would buy from them, just not this receptacle!

This commercial style cigarette snuffer is made from plastic thick enough to stand up to home use, but I wouldn't recommend it for commercial use. The top chimney snaps off to reveal a steel bucket that is supposed to be galvanized but looks more like stainless steel. It holds a lot of butts but should be emptied often to prevent smoldering.

I would recommend this to my friends.
