Smokey and the Bandit soundtrack cassette tape, March 23, 2006
This review is from: Smokey and the Bandit - The Soundtrack (Audio Cassette)
I am a really big fan of the Smokey and the Bandit movies, and really appreciate the fact that I could still purchase this brand-new in any format. While I would LOVE a cd version of this soundtrack, it hasn't been made yet. In the mean time, this will do. It was very cool that the cassette tape came to me brand-new, never opened. I just hope that someone decides to produce some remastered cd versions of this...I would snatch it up in a heartbeat, and I know a few other people who would too. But this cassette is in perfect condition and is worth buying for those who don't mind the outdated audio format.

Disappointed that there's no CD!, May 12, 2007
This review is from: Smokey and the Bandit - The Soundtrack (Audio Cassette)
I got this record as a kid, and wore it out. I seriously used to play the LP all the time. Looking back, I have no idea why my parents let me watch such a profanity laced film at such a young age, but it must have been because I loved cars and car chases so much (my love for the Dukes of Hazzard soon followed).
The cassette was a refreshing reminder of years gone by. I loved that they intertwined some CB lingo with all the great songs. Jerry Reed hit his stride with Eastbound and Down.
The soundtrack is pretty much in line with what you hear in the movie, and the sound quality is, I suppose, about what you'd expect from a cassette tape.
If this ever comes to CD, I'm on it.
