I purchased this treadmill on sale and got a great price at $899 including shipping. the treadmill is worth way more,has a built in fan all the same electronic moniters and gadgets the gym treadmills have .it was easy to set up. it folds up very easy and I put it away in seconds, its quiet, built well and am completely happy, can not say enough good things about this treadmill and the company, great product.

I cheaped out and had curbside delivery and would definitely recommend you pay the extra $75 to have it brought inside. It's mammoth. Putting it together only took us about an hour, though. Having two people is essential for easy assembly but then it's really easy. Smooth provided great instructions and everything you need to use is provided in a very tidy case. No fumbling for loose screws.

As to the treadmill's performance, I am extremely pleased. It seems as sturdy as the ones at the gym and is extremely quiet. "Smooth" is an apt name. It absorbs shock better than the gym machines and is an absolute pleasure to run on.

It is harder than I anticipated to maneuver on carpeting, though. It really pulls on the carpet. And the mat they threw in just makes it harder. I've moved it into another room where I don't have to roll it around. If foldability is important to you, I hope you have a smooth-surfaced floor. Personally, I love this thing so much that I was willing to rearrange a whole other room to make a proper space for it.

I have been in the market for a treadmill for over a year because I was doing plenty of research. I chose the Smooth 6.25 HP due to the high user ratings from other sites and the lifetime warranty offered by the Smooth company.

Pro
-This is a high quality, gym style treadmill.
-Very user friendly. Controls are easy to use and the speed goes up to 10 miles p/hr. You can vary the incline with a push of a button.
-Extremely quiet. You can watch TV during use. Someone can sleep in the next room without being disturbed.


Con
-This treadmill is massive. Make sure you have room in your home prior to purchasing. Even folded up, it takes up about 48 inches in length and around 50 inches in height.
-Delivery from Amazon was curbside only. The freight carrier did call and advise of the day of delivery with a time frame window of 9-5. The box weighed 284 lbs and it is up to you how you are going to get it into your home.
-The Smooth website states they are a Canadian company, but the treadmill box is market "Made in China".

Bought this treadmill in 2004 and it still works great. No problems. We clean out the housing about once a year, and use the silicon lube on the tread every few months, but it is fine. Quiet and solid.

The machine is OK, so far. When I bought this the sales person was very friendly and encouraged me to buy inside delivery, including set up, 95.dollars and and he would include a free mat. No set up, took me a few hours, no free mat, I have tried to reach friendly salesman, he has not answered four e-mails.
