This review is from: Smooth Away Hair Inhibitor Moisturizer Cream (Misc.)
I originally bought the Smooth Away kit, with the sanders to buff away your hair and the lotion. The sanders are crap and I threw them away. They took my skin off before any hair disappeared. I used the lotion thinking it wouldn't do much. Especially when it felt like light watery lotion from the dollar store. But I had two bottles and wasn't going to let it go to waste. Might as well, right? But after about 3 weeks I noticed the hair on my legs was softer. After another week or two it was significantly softer, lighter and more comfortable. I didn't have to shave as often, and if I did have stubble it didn't feel like little needles were poking me in the ankles. I stopped using it when I ran out, thinking I'd find a readily available hair inhibitor at the store. I think I had one years ago. But I've been looking for months with no luck. The hair on my legs is back to it's normal annoying ways, so I hopped online to find the Smooth Away lotion again. Sorry, I mean MOISTURIZING CREAM. The search for "lotion" returned no results. Snobs. So yes, I definitely recommend this product! You have to use it for a while before you'll see results, and then keep using it. But that makes sense and I'm sure it's typical. I'm ordering two today. [...] Other pluses: * It works wonderfully to reduce the frequency of shaving or waxing. * It has a nice light scent, kinda flowery. * It's light to the touch and non-greasy (very important!). * Despite how thin and cheap it feels, it moisturizes well. So you don't need a second "real" lotion. * A little goes a long way. Use it sparingly. One bottle lasted me several months, so it's worth the price. [At the time I wrote this it was ten bucks plus five for shipping.] * I actually only used it every other day and still had great results. Another money-saving tip. Cons: umm...none, really. UPDATE: It's been 5 months and I'm still working on the first bottle! Though it is getting low. The hair on my legs is so light and soft I can actually get away with not shaving as frequently - maybe every 3-4 days instead of every 2. I also use it under my arms and on the bikini area. It doesn't seem to work as well in these areas for some reason, but it's making a little bit of a difference. Worth continuing. [...] I've also found that in the winter I do have to use a second, heavier, moisturizer to relieve dryness. |
