5.0 out of 5 stars hot
Carlos Santana is outstanding as he always has been. I haven't listened to the entire CD yet. However, Rob Thomas is the one that deserves most of the credit for the song 'smooth'. He is very talented. His voice is sexy and unique. I find him extremely different from other artists. His other songs 'Push', 'Real World', '3 AM' and 'Back 2 Good' are awesome. I am...

1.0 out of 5 stars Warmed-over Santana with lousy vocals
Not a whit of musical growth in this trifle of a pop song. I hate to say it, because I do love the Santana of the 70s.... And Rob Smith's vocals are so mannered and amateurish that I find the song irritating. A huge disappointment.

I am ususally a fan of latin music, R&B, jazz and funk, but I love Rob's music as well. He got it going on!

I bought this CD when it first came out because I am a big fan of Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20. This was by far the best song of the CD. I have been listening to Carlos Santana for a long time, but it took Rob Thomas and this song to give him some overdue recognition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rob Thomas can do no wrong!, September 18, 1999

I have to admit the only reason that I bought this CD was for Rob Thomas. I have been a fan of Matchbox20 since I first heard them. This song is just one more example of Thomas' exemplary songwriting skills. Its a wonderful testament of love for his fiancee.(Keep an eye out for the girl in the green shirt in the video, that is she.)I am happy to say the rest of the CD is just as wonderful as this, my favorite, single. I am now a full blown Santana fan. He is an amazing guitar player, as we all know.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth, July 3, 2000
This review is from: Smooth / El Farol (Audio CD)
IF you like to hear the song Smooth on the radio, but don't really want to buy the entire Supernatural compact disc, then you probably want to buy this single. This single is nothing special because it only has the radio edit of Smooth and El Farol. While these songs are good, some club mixes or something like that would have been nice. The Maria Maria single is a good example of what this single could have been.

5.0 out of 5 stars A smooth victory....and yes there ARE remixes!, August 30, 2000

This song was damned worthy of its victory as the Best Song of last year. And a special remix single of it is available....but I don't want to give it away. A follow-up to Supernatural the album is on the way next year.

I'm glad sexy Santana knocked Wacko Jacko off his throne once and for all.

Santana certainly has re-emerged with a bang. This song is just great. Santana and Thomas make great music in Smooth. What a song!

Welcome back, Carlos....we missed your music!

This is the greatest Santana song to ever come along in my opinion. Great for dancing cha-cha to and really puts one in a Latin spirit. Not surprising that it is number 1 on the charts. Thanks Santana and Rob Thomas for all your efforts. Keep up the good music.

4.0 out of 5 stars I enjoy a good tune when I hear one..., February 7, 2000
This review is from: Smooth / El Farol (Audio CD)
Other than the fact that this song has been seriously overplayed, I must say that it is an excellent song for listening. Even though my musical taste is mainly rock, I respect the effort put forth by Santana and Rob Thomas. The vocals go well with the instrumentals, which is a definite plus. Thomas' voice is definitely one that works well with that type of 'smooth' flavor. I look forward to hearing more of this new venue of music, the combination of Latino rhythym and white-boy singing. It's great to hear the world coming together in a song or two, even if it's just a small part of our me-society. Keep up the good work, men.

5.0 out of 5 stars I haven't heard a song like this in a long time, October 26, 1999
This review is from: Smooth / El Farol (Audio CD)
I heard this song once on the radio and said WOW! what an awesome song. I knew it would be Number One in no time. It has the perfect dance beat that would get everyone onto the dance floor in a second. And the lyrics, music, sound are perfect.
