A Definite Must-Have for Old School Fanatics,
By Fish Cheeks (In Your Dreams) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Smooth Grooves: Cruisin Classics (Audio CD)
I can't believe no one has reviewed this CD yet! This is one of the best R&B compilations that I've heard so far. I enjoy listening to it while I'm at home, but it's better to listen to it while your crusin' in your ride, right when the sun is setting which is the "Golden Time of Day." That song is on there along with other classics such as "Cruisin'" by Smokey Robinson; "Groovin'" by the Young Rascals; and "Let's Do it Again" by the Staple Singers. Out of the 20 songs on the CD, I enjoy 15 of them. This is one CD that I will *not* be lending out.

So Smooth!,
This review is from: Smooth Grooves: Cruisin Classics (Audio CD)
I buy a lot of CDs on Amazon, but this one prompted me to write a review because it is simply the best R&B compilation I have ever come across. I can't believe how many incredible songs are found on one CD. Check it out!

A near-perfect collection of cruisin' R&B oldies.,

While this CD would not be my first choice as the soundtrack to cruisin' down the freeway, highway or avenue (preferably in a convertible with the top down!) it's still a superb collection of 1960s-'70s R&B. The songs by The Commodores, The Spinners, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Bobby Womack, The Staple Singers and Smokey Robinson are timeless and this is a near-perfect collection of smooth and classic vintage R&B. The liner notes are also very interesting and insightful. A nice package indeed.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this CD and I guess you can say it was an impulse buy. Yes, it does have good music, but it is not worth the $40 I paid for it. I don't quite understand the price, but I live and learn. Buy it only if you absolutely love ALL the songs not just 3-4.

any Compilation or Album that starts off with the Great Smokey Robinson on it then you know it is a Winner. Crusin has always been one of my jams. and then you have Frankie Beverly and Maze, Commodres, the Rascals and other Great songs and artists on this collection that make a ride to the park such a extra chilling experience.

You gotta have it!,

This is a first class selection of old school favorites. There are no fillers on this and the compilation is nicely mixed and matched to create a lovely mellow vibe. You just gotta have it!
