Editorial Reviews

In conjunction with Native Language Music’s 5th Anniversary, the label presents "Smooth Jazz: The Best of Native Language, Volume 1." This value-priced Smooth Jazz compilation features ten tracks that illustrate the label’s finest moments. Included on the disc are tracks from JEFF KASHIWA, the former Rippingtons saxophonist whose #1 chart-topping debut album is being followed up in August 2002 by the quintessential "Simple Truth;" BRIAN BROMBERG, whose collaboration with hit saxophonists RICHARD ELLIOT and EVERETTE HARP produced two stellar tracks for the Smooth Jazz Awards Collections; STEVE OLIVER, the AFIM Indie Award-nominated artist whose unique guitar and vocal stylings were praised by Smooth Jazz News who declared Steve "Artist of the Year;" JOE SHERBANEE and THEO BISHOP, Native Language co-founders who are skilled artisans in their own right; and ERIC BRENTON and TONY GUERRERO, certain to be tomorrow’s brightest Smooth Jazz stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great glimpse of a great label, November 21, 2002

This review is from: Smooth Jazz: Best of Native Language, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Just a taste from the guys at Native Language, this disc has everything you're looking for in great Smooth Jazz. The project features some of their best tracks from Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Oliver, Tony Guerrero, and even a cool new tune from an artist I haven't heard of before, Theo Bishop. If this is Volume 1, I can't wait to get Volume 2. And for a great price, it's worth the buy!
