Product Description

Perfect for pouring into a rubber mold. Quickly turns from a liquid to a solid, durable plastic. Ideal for duplicating a variety of original models or sculptures. The Smooth Cast 300 Series of liquid plastics are ultra-low viscosity casting resins that yield castings that are bright white and virtually bubble free. Vacuum degassing is not necessary. They offer the convenience of a one to one mix ratio (one part A to one part B by volume). The differences between them are pot life and demold time. Fully cured castings are tough, durable, machinable and paintable. They resist moisture and mild solvents. Applications for Smooth-Cast Liquid Plastics include reproducing small to medium size sculptures, cold cast bronze castings, making prototype models, roto cast pieces, special effect props and decorative jewelry. Net weight 32 oz. (909 grams). Technical Information Pot Life: 3 minutes Demold Time (depending on mass): 10 minutes Shrinkage: .005 in./in. I used this fantastic product to make a reverse-cast of an object, which I then cast in Silicone Putty. This stuff is great! You mix equal portions and pour; minutes later, you have a nice white, semi-hard plastic object. I imagine you could use it to coat things with too. The individual components are nasty in terms of handling; you'll want to use disposable mixing cups and stirrers, and avoid getting the chemicals on your hands, but the finished cast is truly remarkable. Perfect for capturing fine detail.

I have been using Smooth-On-Smooth-Cast 300 to create a hard coating for a costume that I am making for my son for Halloween. The Smooth-Cast goes on easy (with a brush)and creates an amazing finish. I will be ordering more soon.

We had a leak in our outdoor fountain and I just decided to attempt a repair. After some research, I found this product.

It's easy to use, just follow the simple instructions on the containers. 50/50 mix (stir each before mixing). I used two 16oz. plastic drinking cups to mix (it will get warm when you mix - when you can feel the warmth really well against your palm as you're mixing, it's ready to use).

I poured the mix on the basin and in the pump well (we made the mistake of not covering our fountain during the winter and snow / water created numerous cracks in the concrete). With a helper, we swirled around the mix along the entire basin and well. The product filled the cracks and began to turn white. In approx. 10-15 minutes (as stated on the instructions) it was dry. We let it cure for a few hours and then painted to match the rest of the fountain.

It worked perfectly. The product created a nice, waterproof bond. Paint applied easily and, no leaks! We don't have a pond but those with leaks in the plastic "tub" variety will benefit from this product.

Smooth Cast 300 is great if you have never used mold or casting materials. i used it along with smooth on silicone 30. It is very simple to mix because of the equal measurements of part A and B. It captures the smallest details of my sculptures. however, i would not suggest this product for slush casting because it is very difficult to get an even thickness all around
i do plan on purchasing more of this in the near future

I've tried my hand with making a homemade silicone rubber that didn't work. Trial and error and it was error every time. A friend recommended this to me as she's a sculptor/artist and uses it. Flawless! It does what everyone says it does. The easy 1:1 mix is what I was looking for and no air bubbles in my parts. Not much else to say that hasn't already been said, but I spent as much on failed supplies to make homemade when I could have bought this and did it right the first time. Don't mess around with anything else, get this.

It met my needs well, and is much better than easy cast resin... My only issue is that it isn't crystal clear, it is white, but that is ok.

The instructions were easy to follow, and I was able to use it to do the mold I was working with easily. When the plastic sets up, it does so very fast, so if you are trying to cover an entire mold in a thin layer be prepared for that. One moment it was a liquid I was rolling around the inside of my mask mold, the next it heated up and dried in about 10 seconds flat. It dries to a nice white color that takes paint easily. Definitely plan on using it for the rest of the molds I am doing.

I had to contact customer support due to receiving a wrong tracking number, and they got back to me quickly with the correct number. Excellent customer service.
